Rachel sat over at the couch in her room. Her rooms architect seemed completely different than that of the rest of the royal house that she was residing in currently. Except for the door and the carvings within the wall, they did somehow show an ecstatic of royalness. All she wanted was to escape from the place and go back to her normal life. The door to the room opened up making her jump. A young girl wearing a black dress with buttons on the front and a white apron covering her from waist below walked in.
“Your food.” she pointed with a smile earning a look from Rachel.
Rachel looked at the tray and her stomach growled in agitation at the sight of the beautiful pasta, with marina sauce lumbered all over it. The garlic bread and the fresh glass of colorful orange juice did drool her mouth. She seemed hesitant before grabbing anything.
It could be poisonous. But if they wanted to kill me, they might as well already have had.
She was about to grab onto the pasta when she looked at the young girl standing in front of her and over her shoulder saw three guy standing at the doorway. Rachel’s blood involuntarily boiled up as she immediately held onto the fork.
“You can go Martha; we will take care from here.” Anthony they guy who tased Rachel spoke, earning a glare from Rachel.
“No! Martha will stay.” Rachel demanded.
“And who said you have a say in it?” Jason, the bald ginger spat at her.
Rachel’s jaw flexed at his audacity. She got up from her seat holding the fork behind her dress, and walked up to him.
“Let her stay, or else your big purple bruise will be covering your entire head.” She spat at his face, making him squint his eyes.
The third guy. Derek, who had preciously carried her on her way back chuckled a little earning a look from everyone in the room.
“Martha go!” Anthony yelled loudly making the poor young girl whimper at her spot.
“No! stay!” Rachel said challengingly glaring directly into his eyes.
“Don’t test my limits.” He warned her back.
The entire room seemed like a wrestling arena. For a girl like Rachel who hated violence, she was turning into an extremely violent person for the sake of her self-defense.
“Or else what? You want your nose to be swollen next?” Rachel smirked at him making his blood boil.
He stepped towards her but Derek held out his arm in between the two making Anthony stop.
“You’re lucky, boss wants you alive and well.” Jason hissed at her.
The mere mention of someone wanting her alive and well, knotted Rachel’s guts with anxiety but she maintained a stern face not letting anyone see through her. Something that she learned through her years of experience of living at her own.
“Let’s go.” Derek pushed Anthony with him, forcing him to leave.
“What is their problem? And what does their boss want with me?” Rachel murmured to herself.
“I think you should now use that fork to eat.” Martha offered with a small smile.
Rachel nodded at her and once she was gone, she locked her door from inside and sat back devouring the food. she couldn’t help but moan at how delicious the food was.
Once she was done with the food she, went towards the balcony and stood their grabbing on some fresh air.
She couldn’t help but feel tinged and tensed. Even though she wanted to believe Josie’s words but her entire life no one has been good enough to her. everyone wanted to just use her. Her aunt who took her in. she used to abuse her and made her do house chores. Her husband used to harass her even when she was only twelve. She was just lucky enough that he couldn’t get his hands entirely on her and she escaped that mad house before time.
Flashes of that night, when her aunt’s husband walked down in the basement and she was laying silently. His vicious touch, his alcoholic breath, his unscrupulous words, his force one her, everything still lingered fresh in her mind. And even what happened back in college with her psychotic professor who had almost r***d her, even that haunted her memories. All these incidents made her learn taekwondo so that she could feel strong about herself and learn to defend herself.
“Hey! What the hell are you doing?” A loud scream made Rachel sprint out of her thoughts as she saw Derek standing in the garden right below her balcony looking up at her with confusion.
Rachel looked at him with the same amount of confusion, until she heard the loud bangs on her room’s door.
“Don’t you f*****g dare try and run away.” Derek stood firm at the ground warning Rachel with a death glare.
Rachel smirked knowing that they all are probably hustled over her attempt at running away.
“Open the damn door.” She heard from the outside of the room.
She stood smiling looking and gawking at their miserable condition, scared that a girl was giving them a tough time running away.
“Just get back inside.” Derek yelled at her from the garden below.
“I don’t feel like it.” Rachel yelled back at him, simply shrugging boiling his blood.
“You’re dead.” She heard another man grunt from outside the door.
She chuckled a bit, “I already would’ve been.” She pointed her face towards the door almost yelling, “But your boss wants me well and alive remember?” she reminded them shrugging and looking at Derek casually.
His face burned with revolt and all he wanted was to sprain her neck in his arms and finish him off without even a second breath but he felt his hands were chained to his boss’s command.
For the record; two men spent the night guiding Rachel’s door right outside her room while Derek and one other of their man spent outside in the floral garden, getting bitten by mosquitoes. Where they couldn’t blink for even once without slapping their own skins whenever they felt a mosquito hover over them.
As for Rachel she couldn’t sleep and she shifted restlessly from one side to another, drifting off with horrendous thoughts as to who was this mysterious Alejandro and what did he want from her? The name Alejandro Santiago was stuck to her brain as she thought of him some old, eccentric guy who was into humans body play.
He seemed to be esthetically rich, having his own private island why would he need to have me? For what? He could literally have any woman he ever wants; he surely doesn’t want just something s****l from me?
Could it be my father?
The mere thought made her jump straight up on the bed, sitting with her back straight.
She knew that her father, who she had never even seen was part of some mafia, he left her mother impregnated but he couldn’t possibly ever track her down. Her mother was an Italian on a run from her past and settling in for a new identity. Before she died when Rachel was four, she had already changed everything about her life, there was no way anyone could have ever been able to track Rachel.
Now all Rachel could do was leave everything on this Alejandro guy and wait until he shows up.

Just when finally, Derek was able to blink his eye softly on sleep, he felt a cold splash of water hit his face. He got up alarmed, straightening up, jumping over his feet and pulling his gun out. His jacket and his white tee shirt were soaking wet which he hated and felt infuriated to his core.
He looked around and saw no one but other than his own man sleeping like he had sold all his horses.
His instincts kicked in and he locked up and saw Rachel holding a mug in her hands and smirking down at him.
“What. The. f**k?” he grunted through gritted teeth.
“When the f**k will your boss, this Alejandro guy would show up?” she asked with annoyance in her tone, getting Derek infuriated.
What the hell is she annoyed for? If only I could I would skin her thin self-alive.
He looked down, wiping off his face mixed with cold water and sweat.
“Fine you don’t even look important enough to know,” Rachel yelled at him, moving towards her door’s room.
She flew open the door as the two men sleeping with their head resting against the walls on each side of the corridor flinched open their eyes, standing straight over their feet.
“Agh! I actually feel pity for your boss, you guys are pretty lame to get anyone killed.” Rachel said looking at their miserable conditions. Those two were the same who had abducted her off the plane.
“When will your boss be here?” she asked looking at Anthony who’s name she didn’t know yet she thought him to be sensible enough of all.
“Tuesday.” He told her wanting no more drama from her. he already seemed pretty exhausted.
“And what day it is today?” she asked c*****g an eyebrow.
Jason rolled his eyes grunting at her, “Sunday.”
“I was supposed to be in London today.” She murmured lowly thinking to herself what might be going on in the rest of the world.
What would happen when Rebecca would find out about her absence. She hadn’t even had a chance to give a thought that her plane’s h****k might have been noticed and help might be somewhere on its way.
“No shitting.” Jason sarcastically chuckled at her earning a scoffing look from her.
She stepped back into her room as Jason gawked at her thinking that she might have been having second thoughts about running or either trying to hit him. As Jason stepped towards her, she slammed the door right into his face hitting his already bruised nose.
“f*****g s**t!” he cursed out loud grabbing his nose that hurt pretty bad on the bone. His vision blurred but he could still make up the red dots flowing down his nose, warming his hands and smiting the floor.
“You’re ruining the floor.” Josie walked in yelling at him.
“That b***h did it!” he yelled out loud banging loudly at the door with his fist which made Rachel jump up with fear on the other side. She silently clutched on to the sides of the couch on which she sat at.
Suddenly the door to the room opened up, making Rachel jerk up as she saw Josie standing in the doorway.
“Good morning.” Josie chimed with a smile at Rachel.
Rachel could only manage to smile a little back at her. her insides were still wrenched with anxiety at everything that was happening around her. Josie noticed her anxiety and walked up to her.
She sat her down on the couch, sitting right next to her, “How are you feeling?” she asked with a polite smile.
“I feel like I’m going to throw up.” Rachel said honestly gulping down a lump formed inside her throat at which Josie chuckled but noticing the consistent frown on Rachel’s face she cleared her throat realizing that Rachel wasn’t joking either.
“I can understand your concern.” Josie told her with a small pat over her shoulder.
“No s**t, you can.” The two heard Anthony chuckle loudly as Jason sneered along with him. Josie glared the two with a deadly look that made them both shut quite up.
“I’m sorry dear, I’ll make sure they don’t bully you anymore.” She smiled lightly at Rachel.
Then you should’ve been with me in high school. Rachel thought to herself.
“We’ll be heading downstairs for breakfast, keep an eye on her.” Anthony told Josie earning a look from her.
They headed downstairs towards the dining area, that seemed like a feast for the royals every time someone entered in there. The huge dining room spiritually presented a classic theme with its light olive engraved walls that had ceramic centerpiece hanging over it but also differed in mode and ecstatic due to its modern plain glass eighteen seaters dining table with white upholstered dining chairs with solid wooden frames.
As the two entered inside, they immediately groaned at the bright light coming in from the wall window that had its drape withdrawn.
“I wonder how active you two would be if someone attacks me this moment.”
The two stood frozen chill, at the recognition of the voice that fell upon their ears. They instantly recognized it, straightening their posture and looking straight ahead at the head chair of the table, where usually Diego Santiago, the eldest of the house sits but in his absence his son, Alejandro, their boss takes that place and Anthony and Jason knew for their own better than it was their boss, Alejandro.
“Boss! You’re back early.” Jason nodded in complete obedience and attention, partially happy that they boss would finally give them orders about the package who had become such a constrictive pain in their ass.
“You two seemed pretty relieved at the sight of me.” Alejandro pointed out, keeping aside his tablet that he was working on. He nodded towards the housekeeper that entered inside the dining room carrying his breakfast. And dug into his food.
“We’ve got the package upstairs, you ordered for.” Anthony notified him taking a seat right beside him. As Jason slipped right across from him.
Alejandro’s muscled clenched up for an entire moment at the thought of some abducted girl staying in one of the room upstairs, “Is that where Josie is?” he asked looking at Anthony.
He knew Josie hated when he brought business or blood home. She was like his own mother to him. After his own mother passed away right after giving birth to him, she took longing and loving care of him like his own child, teaching her from better to worse. But despite of against her wishes she couldn’t help him from not joining the black money job. She had to give in at some point. And now having an innocent “girl” upstairs would definitely be earn Alejandro a scolding lecture from Josie but he was prepared with his own reasons.
He looked at his men who looked tired and beat, with rustic and swollen look all over their faces, especially with Jason who had a badly bruised nose.
“What happened to you two?” Alejandro asked, suspecting a potential attack from an enemy mafia.
“That b***h!” Jason hissed touching his nose and cringing at the killing pain.
Martha walked in carrying their trays of breakfast with a cold white cloth for Jason, which he put over his nose and groaned out at the relaxation out of the pain.
“Who did this?” Alejandro became even more suspicious and asked Anthony.
“That package of yours.” Anthony admitted shamelessly, digging into his food.
“What?” Alejandro asked unbelievably.
“That girl that we kidnapped, she fought us in the plane and then I had to stun her. and then she ran for f*****g miles till the back shore of the Island and she made us sleep all night outside her door and in the morning she f*****g slammed the door on Jason’s face.”
Alejandro looked for a moment between the two dudes until he busted out with humorless laughter.
“You two are such pussies.” He laughed at Anthony and Jason’s face.
“Hey! You said that you didn’t want us to hurt her and make sure that she would stay safe.” Anthony defended himself back.
Alejandro kept laughing out loud at their faces, “I can’t believe I pay you guys to protect me.” He simply shook his head in disappointment, glaring his face back into an emotionless pit and continued to chew on his food.
“Hey! We didn’t fight her and she knew some kick moves.” Jason defended himself back holding his nose tightly in the ice packed cloth.
“Oh of course, an unarmed girl could be this vicious, I pity you f*****g idiots who would get me killed the day someone would attack me.” Alejandro scolded them with strict expressions, “Call Josie and tell her to bring that girl in my office.”
He got off his seat, walking outside the dining room.
“Wait until boss see’s the size of this girl.” Martha joked out as she walked in picking up the plated earning a death glare from Anthony.
“Oh honey, I’m so imbecile to not to even ask your name.” Josie asked Rachel smiling at her slightly.
Rachel sat in front of the vanity right outside the bathroom, wearing a bathrobe as Josie stood behind her brushing her long brown hair.
“Rachel.” She shyly smiled back looking down at her fingers in her lap.
The vanity was huge, filled with all kinds of skin and body products, blow dries, brushes and other necessary and unnecessary tools for skin care routine.
“How old are you? And what do you do?”, Josie asked trying to make an adult conversation.
“I am a…” before she could’ve answered any further the door to the room burst open making the two snap their head towards the direction of the pathway that lead towards the room.
Soon out of the way Anthony emerged.
“Boss is asking you to take her to his office.” He faced square towards Josie.
Rachel’s guts knotted tighter together and her anxiety pared even more high. Her heart started began thumping loudly in her chest as he hands unconsciously clenched her robe.
Soon Anthony went out of the room as Rachel sat in silence thinking what could possibly happen.
Her brain was clouded with too much of anxiety to even help her think clear about things.
“Don’t worry dear, I told you it will be alright.” Josie patted her shoulder with a smile as Rachel looked at her reflection in the mirror standing behind her.
Whatever it is; one thing goes for good, it is going to be over now, any minute or any moment. I will know the real purpose of everything that happened.
Rachel crossed her fingers; compressing of wishes from God that things go down for good for her.
