Chapter 6

Rachel slowly shook her head, her eyes still shut tight, feeling the slight pain over her forehead, which was also the spot she hit on as she fell unconscious. She felt lying on a soft surface which seemed a bed. Shit! She jerked up her head, still feeling the pain over her cracked nerves of her neck where she was tased. She opened up her eyes slowly but widened them instantly as she took in the view of the room she was in. Dim yellow lights, tempered the atmosphere of the huge chamber that looked like a Ritz Carlton guest room. The grey imprinted walls gave a royal essence, with a long couch extended alongside the length of the bed right next to the window that was covered with chiffon and silk grey drapes. A frosted glass closet seemed to separate the room from the bathroom. The large double doors of the room were right in front of the bed. She first checked on to herself, her clothes were still the same and there was no pain in any intimate part of her body which means that she was safe. But not for long. She looked around the bed, searching if her phone or any other connecting device was present but they obviously weren’t going to leave anything besides her. Where am I? Who are these people and what did they want from me? Why would they want to abduct me anyways? I was on Rebecca’s jet; did they accidently abduct me thinking that I was Rebecca? But they would know who to abduct. Someone powerful enough to h****k a private jet and abduct someone can’t possibly make this big mistake. But why was I taken? With spinning thoughts in her mind, she jumped out the bed, trying to find some answers, her feet still sore by hitting giants in the faces. Jumping over the couch, she removed off the drapes and bright light blinded her eyes for a moment as she shielded them with her hand but looked out again. All she could see was green in front of her. She could sense that she was on the first floor of whatever the thing she was in. She saw the sight of plain grass surrounded by palm trees, paved tiles, leading into a way sided by bedded flowers and other plantations. Everything was blossoming colors in the see of green. All kinds of plants seemed to grown into the garden. If it were any normal place. What is this place? Is this some kind of hotel? Why would I be brought into a hotel? The two large heads in plane told me that I was in Spain but I doubt them to tell me anything true. They were definitely not from any intelligence. They were too dumb to not to even know that Spain doesn’t even have any President. But this place is extravaganza, and why would I ever be brought here? It was definite that I have been taken but why would someone want to abduct me and then keep in some garden view room? She looked for any opening around the windows and luckily found one around the extreme left corner which was a lock. She clicked the button open and slid the window glass which was extremely heavy. Rachel’s stomach gurgled instantly reminding her that it’s been probably the longest she has fed the poor tummy of hers. First thing after we get out of here. She told her tummy to keep it tight as she tip-toed into the small balcony attached with the window. The floor was smooth ceramic just like the room and so were the creamy white wall railing that ended just around the ankles, with small pot plants placed alongside the edges. One of them was a red and white colors in stripes, enclosed petals flower that Rachel instantly recognized as a 17th century Semper Augustus. It was one of the world’s most expensive and rare flower. She looked around and saw the rest of the small pot flowers were also rare and expensive. Why would such expensive flowers be placed at such a nonrandom place? Only someone rich or a botanist would be able to tell about them. She looked around her to notice the exterior of the place she was at and saw that the walls were in plain textures of white and beige which gave the essence of royalty. To her right she saw an endless number of windows leading into her peripheral vision, placed at great distance from one another. She was already having a major anxiety attack and didn’t want to think that she was brought into the house of a rich person or some sick billionaire where she would be auctioned as part of human s*x trafficking. She immediately looked down at the grass which seemed freshly cut and luckily no one was around. The coolness in the breeze made it seem like afternoon as the sun rays were still falling. She decided to jump up but stopped when she heard a clicking sound. She turned around and gasped loudly, her heart flipping with horror, as she saw an old white woman in a white dress with a black apron tied around her waist, holding a tray filled with food. Her heart thumped loudly in her chest, as her feet fumbled and she took a step back, reaching for the railing which was smooth and her feet slipped off making her stumble down on the grass directly on her butt. She whimpered as her elbows burned with harsh scratches along the skin. A screaming voice filled her ear. She looked up and saw the old woman standing in the balcony yelling out loud in Spanish. Yup! I am definitely in Spain. Rachel heard grass ruffling around as she felt people approaching her. She immediately got onto her feet and made a run. She followed the paved tiles that made a pathway. She ran as fast as she could. Noticing the place around her to be filled with plantations of all kind and grasses alongside the paved way with lampposts placed to lit in the dark. It seems like some kind of private estate. Keeping up with the Kardashians had taught me this much. She heard footsteps behind her with men screaming and yelling but she didn’t bother to stop. She kept running. Loud angry men were yelling from behind, following her but she didn’t stop. What ruffled her pace was a small waist height white wall. But she wasn’t going to quit. I didn’t learn taekwondo for nothing. She leaped up, extending her legs high and jumped off the wall, hitting her side on the ground as she landed on the other side of the wall. She got up again as she heard people following her. What caught her off guard was the fact that instead of meeting any road she was still inside what seemed like forest. Tall trees, dirt smitten ground, sharp barks and twigs held out at different angles. Covering the entire view as long as her vision went. It seemed like a pool of sss to her. But she didn’t hold back. Everything was getting fishier by each passing second but still she ran into the dark woods, running as fast as she could. She took a sharp turn into the forest and saw three tall men in black running like maniacs behind her. And she knew that there’s more to them but all that horrified her was the fact that they were extremely large and broad and could snap her easily in their palms. She prayed to God and paced on her feet as fast as she could so that she reaches down a road. She continued running for almost what felt like miles to her. With every step she took, it became only darker as she felt herself indulging more within the forest but she didn’t slow down her pace of running. She didn’t even realize that it might have been perhaps a long while almost an hour of her running. She only slowed her pace once she heard nothing else other than her own ruffled breath. She kept fiddling her way through the tall trees, pushing off the branches, twigs, long palm leaves that hit her face. She couldn’t help but think that most of the plants around were exotic and didn’t feel much like forest until she stepped her foot over a sharp object. She held her scream within her mouth and held onto a sharp bark that scratched her palms but she didn’t care because the pain in her foot was blinding. Please don’t be anything poisonous. Luckily it was only grown out spike of a twig that had pierced right into the middle of her foot. She lied back against a tree and twitched it out hissing slowly at the pain as tears escaped her eyes. But she also didn’t lose any strength. She mustered up all the courage she could and passed down another long leaf and finally felt rays of sun shine falling on her. She followed it outside as the tall trees began disappearing and what felt like sandy underneath her feet. She finally led her way outside towards the sun but was rendered disappointed when all she saw was the shores of an ocean. Sand was resting underneath her feet and there was nothing other than a wide space of sand and just the ocean in front of her and the dark woods behind her. “What the f**k?” she cried out loud in frustration. “Welcome to the Santiago Island.” She shrilled at her spot, turning around towards the source of the voice. She saw the same man who stunned her on the plane, standing in a t shirt and blue jeans. His cheekbone was badly bruised blue because of Rachel’s kick to his face. His right side of the jaw was swollen bad, looking like a separate blue lump of veins hanging down just where Rachel had kicked him. He wasn’t alone what seemed like an entire army of angry men stood right next to him in lines, some of them looking with furious eyes as they tried catching their breaths after running relentlessly chasing Rachel. Island? A private island? “What is this place and why am I here?” Rachel inquired as fear gushed through her veins. Her heart was in a rush hour, beating loudly to pump oxygen into her tiring muscles and all the fear that she witnessed by seeing vicious men standing in front of her. Anthony stepped ahead, throwing her a fake smile off his clenched jawline, “You’re Mr. Alejandro Santiago’s personal guest.”
