Jason just smiled, since he couldn’t shake his head in disbelief as he wanted to, as he said “Charlie, how in the world do you find out these things?”
Charlie always knew where he, and every other teenage boy in Fries, went on their dates, who they dated, and probably what they did. Charlie just leaned back and began laughing.
Then, as if it had been planned, Jason caught out of the corner of his eye a young blonde as she walked by the window. Charlie laughed and spun the chair around facing the window, just as Katy Lynn backed up, looked in the window, saw all the inhabitants of the barber shop looking at her, waved with embarrassment, and rushed back up the street.
“So I guess you’re taking the little blonde to the Homecoming Dance tonight.”
“Yeah, she’s on the homecoming court.”
