Jason dreaded the coming of summer, as he assumed he would return to Greensboro to work with his uncle. There just weren’t many jobs in Fries. In May though, Coach Statzer brought Jason into his office.
“Jason, you had a good season last year. I’ve already started hearing from college scouts wanting a schedule of this year’s games so they can see you play. I think you could be one of the best quarterbacks in the area next year. You have the arm, and you’re really fast, but doggone Jason, you are so damn skinny. Don’t you ever eat?”
