I tried everything to find a way out of physically going to the regionals, but it was clear that they wanted all the contestants to be there. I can understand why. They wanted us all to play with their standard equipment and not whatever we might have at home. The only things we were allowed to bring along were our headsets.
The biggest problem I was having was that I just couldn’t get used to contact lenses. They burned my eyes each time I put them on, and I couldn’t spend as much time in front of the screen. I had no other choice. I had to go without them. I had to pretend that I was wearing contact lenses that made my eyes red.
