Later that evening after Gracie and Sarah had awaken I began cooking dinner while they played outside with Adam. Seconds after I started marinating the meat Edward came over and demanded that I let him and Eve finish it while I spend time with my children. I willingly handed the task over and headed outside.
When I saw Gracie and Sarah playing together my breath was stolen from me. The way they acted with one another, the kindness, the sisterly love, it held me captive. I couldn't believe that these two beautiful girls where mine.
I watched as Sarah stumbled lightly over her feet but caught herself before she fell. I covered my mouth automatically from the shock of my daughter almost getting hurt.
"Sarah, be careful." I called to her.
She laughed and continued on. I walked over to Adam and he wrapped his arm around my waist.
"I think they've grown on one another." He said to me. "If you look closely you can see their personalities." He pointed at Sarah who had stumbled over her feet again. "She seems to be a bit clumsy naturally."
I chuckled to myself. "Yeah she would get the clumsiness from me."
He pointed at Gracie. "She likes to follow Sarah around and if you look closely you can tell she is a bit protective of her." He pointed at Sarah who had almost fallen again. "You can see how she always goes to try and catch Sarah when she stumbles."
"I am guessing she got that trait from you."
He shrugged his shoulders. "I was a big brother for about 113 years, give or take a few." he laughed.
I laughed along with him. "Gracie stay away from the pool" I called to her as she was reaching into the pool to grab a floating leaf. She looked up at me with a guilty expression and then dove in. "Gracie!" I screamed as I ran and jumped in after her.
When I surfaced I saw Gracie who was swimming with a perfect breast stroke technique. I looked up at Adam who was snickering to himself.
"She can swim Bella." he said to me. "Emmett taught her"
My eyes widened. "He put my daughter in water when she was just a baby?" I growled.
He slightly shook his head. "Not exactly. Emmett was supposed to be watching Gracie while Rose went hunting and she sorta fell through some ice, luckily she knew how to swim."
I clenched my fists in anger. "Luckily she has a bafoon for an uncle so she has the chance to learn to swim." I said sarcastically. I closed my eyes and did my best to calm myself. No harm was done, Gracie was fine.
Sarah ran and jumped into the pool , splashing me in the face. When she surfaced she was giggling and that brought me to laughter as well. Seconds after Sarah joined us so did Adam.
"You know now that we are going to have to get them showered and in their pjs before dinner." I stated.
Adam moved to float on his back and spat out a spout of water from his mouth before he began laughing. "Sounds like a mighty challenge-" He began in a pirate immitation. He swam over to the girls and lifted them effortlessly onto his shoulder. "-Do ye merry children think we can do this challenge?" He asked them his pirate voice.
The girls began clapping and cheering.
"Lets take on the challenge daddy!" Gracie squeeled in delight.
"Ya lets show them ruddy pirates! We can beat them!" Sarah added.
I laughed and followed quickly as Adam rushed into the house with the girls in his arms. I made a mental note to clean up the floor that was now hosting a small stream of pool water. The stream went up the flight of stairs to the large bathroom.
When I had came into the room I saw Adam already had the girls undressed and in the bath. I joined him and began helping the girls bath themselves.
"Eve" I called out.
Half a blink later she was standing before us.
"Can you get the girls ready, Adam and I are going to finish our bath." I explained.
She gather the girls and they headed downstairs. Almost immeadiately Adam and I removed our clothes. We began kissing before I heard Edward downstairs setting the table for the girls, dinner was ready.
"We should wait until after the wedding to make love." I whispered. "I want do the best to do this right." I said before I got out and began drying off.
I threw my arms up in the air slightly annoyed. I just remembered we had no clothes until the next day that meant I would be in a robe for the rest of the day and the majority of tomorrow.
"Rosalie has some clothes in her and Emmett's room." I heard Edward murmer from down stairs. "It's not really your style but it'd be a better fit then squeezing into Alice's tiny things."
"Thanks Edward." I replied back before I headed down the hall.
I made it to Rosalie and Emmetts room and began rifling through her closet. Of course everything was a size and a half too big so I ended up picking a sun dress. When I got back downstairs Adam was there fully dressed in an oufit that looked like it came from Edwards personal closet. I laughed only because Adam was a few inches taller and the jeans ended at his ankles.
"Nice pants." I snickered as I headed over to the fridge.
I honestly had no idea why I was going to the fridge since I didn't eat but it just seemed appealing to me. The moment I opened the fridge I knew why, there were several large pitchers of blood, tiger blood. The inhaled the scent deeply and almost instantly my mouth was watering.
I reached for the pitcher but dropped my hand when a large glass was shoved in my face. I turned around quickly and saw Edward with a grin on his face.
"Thought you might be thirsty after a long day." He murmered
I smiled silently as I took the glass from him and began sipping on it. Once I was finished I moved to the sink to wash the cup.
"So how are you adjusting to the life of being an uncle." I asked.
Edward moved to lean against the counter. "It's nice, I mean I never thought I would have this privelage because as you know now I thought my siblings were all dead." He smirked. "You have the most precious gift of all, a family."
I turned the water off and dried the glass before I dried my hands. "Thank you for your blessing." was all I could think of.
I looked at him silently before I nodded my head and walked into the next room where Sarah and Gracie seemed to be debating the coolest color. So far it was blue against pink.
I glanced out the windows at the light that had faded and then looked at my watch. It was well past 7:30pm and I knew it was time for bed. Even Gracie knew it because she began yawning.
"Lets go on upstairs girls its time for bed." I whispered as I held out my hands. "Do you want your father and I to read a story to you?" I asked.
The girls said yes but I knew from the way they seemed to be fading out that they wouldn't make it another minute. I walked forward and took Gracie into my arms and headed upstairs. Adam did the same with Sarah. Since no one but Sarah and Grace slept they could basically have any room. The moment we laid them down in the bed they were out light a lightbulb.
Half the night Adam and I sat watching the girls sleep. At some point we brought in Edward because we were curious about their dreams. Sarah was dreaming about Jacob leaving her in the forest because he didn't want her and then the dream morphed into me coming to find her. She loved me. Gracie was dreaming her new sister and them laughing together.
"How did I get so lucky to have everything I ever wanted." I whispered to myself.
"What did you want?" Adam asked me curiously.
I nudged him slightly. "My loves." I replied.
