Evelyn's POV
"And so, the first option for this should be the front line warriors because to many, it would be impossible to cross" Liam states.
I nod taking it in.
"Front line warriors. The strongest, right?" I ask him.
He looks at me as he tilts his head. And he slowly nods. Of course the front line warriors are the strongest we have.
"Then if someone crosses the front line, that means it is almost done., Right?" I ask him again.
Liam slowly nods once again.
"I agree it is the Royal Capital pack that they are messing with, but we lack with the number of warriors in front line, Liam!" I raise my eyebrow.
Liam and I are discussing about the capability of the Royal Army. Liam says that what we have is more than enough. But I still feel like we are lacking.
No one knows when the opponents might attack. No one from werewolf race has the guts to face the Royal Army but what if some other supernatural races want to.?
"Then do you have a plan?" Liam asks.
I smirk.
"You do?" He asks me again.
And I shrug.
"I will say that the day after my coronation.! But yes, I do have a plan. That will be a great deal not just to us but all the packs across the planet" I smile.
"All right then!" Liam nods and closes up the laptop he has before him.
"I have to go check on the primary patrol system. So I will be right back!" He says, bows and before I nod.. he leaves too!
I sit there and turn to my left. I see the sun beginning to set through the window.
Just one more month till my coronation. I am nervous as heck I don't even know if I will survive through the coronation period.
The phone before me rings. I am still in my own office that will soon be called the Queen's office. Wow! I know.
I lazily walk to it and pick the receiver up.
"Hello?" I say as soon as I answer.
"Good Evening, Princess!" The voice on the other end surprises me.
This man still did not let go of his habit of calling me Princess even though I told him and basically forced him to call me by my name a thousand times!
I put the receiver back that is equivalent to hanging up the call. And I roll my eyes.
The phone rings again.
And this time when I answer the call he says,"Hey Evelyn!!"
"Hey Victor! How is it going?" I talk to him.
"Okay. Honestly speaking, I don't think this can work. You are going to be our ruler soon-"
"Can't rulers have friends?" I ask him back.
"Well, that's not what I was going to say but-"
"Then, that's it!" I say shrugging even though he cannot see that right now.
"Okay. So the reason I called is to say that I just received the official invitation of the coronation! And I instantly knew the card is your selection" he says.
Huh?
"Why does it have candy picture at the bottom?" He asks.
"I thought it was cute" I answer.
"Candies???" He asks.
Yep. Because my father said pink is feminine colour. I couldn't help but go with it. Maybe I should change that rule too.. once I become the Queen. And then he chose a font that he said that looks feminine like.
I mean, what the heck?
So I added a candy. Because that is what stereotype is.
You sometimes have to follow the stereotype just to break that, baby!
"Oh My Goodness, Evelyn!" He finally laughs.
And to be honest, that sounds so good to hear. Victor smiles often but doesn't laugh. Moreover he is finally getting into the concept of friendship so it's a really good thing. What is wrong even? People out there kill themselves to be Queen's friend!
"You must be here at least a week before the coronation, Vic!" I tell him.
"Huh?" He asks as if he did not hear what I just said.
"You already know. I am nervous. Being the Queen or whatever is not my thing. I can kill and rule without responsibilities but with one responsibility, I feel like I am tied to a chair and being thrown into the ocean" I tell him.
"I can understand" he whispers.
The more I talk to Victor, the more I understand why William is best friends with him. Victor, if on good side.. is the best person you will ever come across.
"So I want my friend to be here. I still don't know many!" I say.
"My honor, Evelyn!" He says.
"Evelyn? You arse!! You found your mate?" I hear William's voice and my heart skips a beat.
Wow! The way they address each other! Impressive!! Victor., Like William.. is an year older than me. Both of them are twenty two now and I am twenty one.
"It's princess!" Victor tries his best whispering but I heard it.
I get all shy and embarassed out of blue. I really wonder now, if he is my mate. Or if it's his Beta or Omega.. whoever! But I am sure it is someone from his pack.
"I will call you right back, Princess!" Victor says.
"Okay. Take care" is all I say before I hang the call up and walk out of the palace all smiley.
I have nothing to do now. But the pack is just too much to handle now. With the coronation just a month away, the preparations are on. The invitations are out so we don't know when the unexpected guests may visit and surprise!
I make my way to the silver cells. I am having a lot of fun lately, with the filth. The day when my father told me how powerful this filth is, trust me.. I experienced goosebumps!
A week later, it started to seem all normal. He would take whatever I throw at him and his healing rate is faster than a regular wolf. I wonder why.
And it has been a month since I captured him. No one from his Rogue clan came to the rescue. Of course, who would go against a Princess to save a Rogue?
This is also a secret the Royals are currently maintaining.
By the time I walk in, I see him sleeping in the very same chair that he is tied to. He is being fed twice a day. Once with warm meal and the other time stale food. He cannot just come in here and have a good life!
He bathed just yesterday again. Marks three times of his bath since he came here. Because the blood was sticking all over his body and he was also stinking!!
"Good Evening!" I greet him as soon as I walk in.
He wakes up at my voice and tries to look at me through his swollen eyes. His eyes still hold that electric spark that I wonder where that is coming from!
"Have you had your lunch?" I ask him.
He smiles at me.
That goddamn smile that always gets on my nerves!!
I punch him once again and he still has the energy to look back at me and smile. He looks weaker than he was. But his eyes, they are just still the same.
"Fight back!!" I yell and punch him in his jaw.
He doesn't fight back or at least flinch.
"I feel like I am hitting a wall!" I say and hit him once again.
Like everyday, I grip his hair and yank back forcing him to look at me. There is something in this man. That is very very very intriguing.
"Fight back! Because I don't like to win without an equal opponent" I tell him.
He smirks. His right eye swollen. Puffy from lack of sleep but this man somehow still manages to look good wonder who his mate is because she will not even get to meet him again.
Why?
I will kill him in a month, duh!
"You want me to fight?" He finally talks.
A month since I captured him and threw him in here, and he finally speaks today.! Wow!! His voice still sounds so groggy as if he just woke from his sleep, which is partially true as well.
"Yeah! So I can defeat you once again, and this time .. I plan on showing people around that I can really do it!" I say.
He smiles.
"Really?" He asks with a smirk.
Without me saying anything again, he starts shifting in his seat and I take two steps back. I just want to see what he wants to do when he is tied down with silver ropes that are digging into his skin and burning him in the process.
But what I see as soon as he stops shifting, blows my mind away.
And everything people ever told me about him. About his strength. About his ruthlessness. About his power.
I saw it all running through my soul. I could really feel it.
Because what he did was look straight into my eyes, smirk and the next thing I know, he stretches his arms like how he does when he is yawning and is ready to sleep.
I see the silver ropes breaking apart from the force. And once done, he stands up and stretches like he is now done with his workouts and he is making sure every part has worked out.
I look at the torn pieces of silver rope, blink once, twice and when I look at him.. he is already looking at me.
"Good Evening, to you too, Evelyn King!"
