I Don’t Share

One moment everything is fine and we are welcoming guests to the celebration, the next moment all chaos breaks out and I’m being shoved behind Eli. Ree, get to the pack house and stay inside. I’ll take care of this - Eli mind links me. Eli, I don’t know how but I think he’s right. My wolf told me you are my mate, but she told me Hunter is my mate too. How is this possible? - I mind link back. I don’t know, but please do as I say. I’ll figure this out. Please listen to me, Ree - Hunter begins to move backwards moving me towards the pack house. I decide it’s better to get inside rather than stay out here between two angry, territorial alphas. I make my way to the deck of the pack house and just as I’m about to open the door, both Eli and Hunter shift. I’m mesmerized by their wolves - Eli is a huge sandy colored wolf with striking blue eyes and Hunter is a massive black wolf with daring turquoise eyes. I hear them snarl and growl at each other - this isn’t good. They’ll fight to the death because no alpha submits. I can’t let this happen! I start to walk down the steps just as Alpha Zeke comes running over and gets right in between Eli and Hunter. “Will someone tell me what the hell is going on? Both of you, shift, NOW!” he booms in his alpha tone. Alphas can’t make other alphas submit, but both Eli and Hunter shift back out of respect, continuing their stare down. “Well? Someone tell me what the hell has gotten into you two!” Alpha Zeke is fuming at this point. I realize I’m the cause of this - I’M the reason they about killed each other. “Alpha Zeke, my wolf tells me I’m mated to Alpha Hunter.” I speak up as I’m making my way back to the scene. “How is that possible? You are mated to Eli - unless one of you rejected the other? Eli? Do you have something to tell us?” Alpha Zeke instantly looks to Eli like he’s going to murder him. “No, Alpha Zeke,” I start, “Neither of us have rejected the other. I’m saying my wolf says I’m mated to both Eli and Hunter.” Alpha Zeke raises his eyebrows and tries to form a sentence, but I know he’s just as confused as I am. Hunter speaks up this time, “All I know is you are mine and I don’t share.” He says this directly to Eli, which makes Eli move towards him in an instant. They are chest to chest ready to go at it again, but this time I’m there in an instant too, pushing them away from each other. “I think we need to speak with the elders on this, Ree. Let’s head inside,” Alpha Zeke finally speaks. “Yes, yes I think that’s a good idea.” I recognize that voice, it’s Elder Jasper. He must’ve seen the entire thing play out. Eli, Hunter, and I all follow Alpha Zeke and Elder Jasper inside the pack house. We make our way upstairs to alpha’s office. It’s really not that big of a deal, so we have two mates, what’s the problem? Double the man, double the wolf! Remi obviously doesn’t see all the problems this could cause. She’s only thinking about pleasure. Remi, we are mated to two alphas. Two alphas from different packs. Don’t you see the mess this will cause? If I reject one of them, it could ruin treaties, it could cause our packs to go to war with each other! Ugh selfish wolf - everything was perfect this morning, I had no mate, no worries. Now I’m in the middle of this mess with two alphas claiming me. So don’t reject either of them. What? Is she insane?? Great, I have a crazy wolf. Elder Jasper is quiet for a few moments, thinking over everything, “Reese, you’ve been blessed with two strong mates. Though this is not common, it has happened in the past. It takes a strong she-wolf to be blessed with two alphas. You have the choice of rejecting one,” Eli and Hunter both growled to that, “or you can accept both of them. They are both linked to you, but they are not linked to each other.” “And if I choose to accept both?” I hesitantly ask. “How will that work being mated to two different alphas from two different packs? How could that even work?” “Ah - details to hash out should you come to that decision. Like I’ve told you, this situation has happened in the past and has worked itself out. Should you have any questions, I am always available to you. Now, I believe we have an alpha ceremony to complete. Shall we?” And just like that, Elder Jasper walked out of the room like my life wasn’t falling apart or anything. No big deal. I’ll just be internally panicking over my life.
