Chapter 9It was interesting to see Thaddeus talk to the relatives of the murdered women. There was a gentleness about him Sandy hadn’t seen before, but despite his voice being soft, and him showing an understanding of their situation, and sadness for their loss—and Sandy truly believed he was sad for them—he asked the right questions. He got people talking. Sandy couldn’t have done it. He could get other shifters to talk by demanding it, he could be blunt and challenging, but he couldn’t do what Thaddeus did. While it was an eye-opener to see the skills Thaddeus possessed. Sandy didn’t like becoming aware of his own shortcomings. But, no matter how interesting it was to see Thaddeus work, he was getting bored. This was the seventh person they were talking to, and nothing new had come up—
