His red hair was disheveled and his eyes tired. “Is he dead?” Thad nodded. “Both Grim and Albert Oxon got their skulls crushed by an angry shifter.” Pickering winced. “And the shifters are not pleased about hearing you’re selling shifter skulls.” “I had nothing to do with it, Thaddeus. You have to believe me.” Thad pursed his lips in an unimpressed manner. He did believe Pickering never wanted to be involved in something that had anything to do with creating or selling shifter spirits trapped in skulls, but he couldn’t tell him.
