(Ray POV)
I quickly took a seat beside Myles and Caspian served for everyone, but my mind was still stuck on that damn text. I thanked him before putting a mouthful of pasta in my mouth and wincing loudly. My eyes watered when the hot pasta burned my tongue.
"Easy there, Love!" Kane said while handing me a glass of water. I wiped the tear with the back of my hand and Myles quickly handed me the tissue. I forced a smile on my face, but the lines of worry on his face were enough to tell me that they sensed my absentmindedness.
"Ray! Are you okay? You seem lost in your thoughts. Is something bothering you?" Caspian asked while putting the glass of water back on the table.
"I…ah! No, actually I was so hungry and didn't notice that the pasta was still hot. Don't worry! I will be careful now
