CHAPTER FIFTEEN He came stumbling towards where he believed the crumpled, sagging hut to be. He couldn’t be sure as his eyes were bleary and he had difficulty focusing. Moving at speed, weaving drunkenly from side to side, close to exhaustion, he’d run like he hadn’t run for years, not since he was a small boy when his body was new, his limbs hard and fast. Now, all those years of drinking, smoking and other, questionable practices, had taken their toll. Wheezing, eyes watering, the cramps in his thighs like the Devil’s own pronged fork, he pitched over and landed heavily on his knees.
