I awoke slowly as I was rocked from side to side. I wasn't sure what was going on and I forced my eyes open bit by bit. It was night already and the stars danced above me. What had happened? I know I had passed out after the battle but after that was a blur. A groan close to my ear made me crane my neck to inspect what was making that awful sound.
Koda was curled in a tight ball almost next to me. I jerked and sat up and whimpered as the pain overcame me. I hadn't expected that. As long as I stayed still I was relatively okay but soon as I had moved my shoulder was on fire as everything prickled. I licked the sore spot as I whimpered.
"You should stay still." the gentle rebuff came from my ride and I looked down. "I'm glad you are awake though."
