By the time we made it to the base of the mountain, the storm had hit us in earnest. I had jumped down to ease Mana's burden, and just like he'd done to Koda, he picked me up and put me back on his back.
"I can walk," I informed him with a sniff.
"You don't need to be walking through this. Just stay put," Mana huffed at me. "Stay," he ordered as I tried to move again.
Koda chuckled from his curled up spot. "Don't fight him, Morgan."
I shivered as the wind blew and even my fur couldn't keep me warm. "It's close now."
I tried to point my nose in the direction but a snowflake swirled into my nose and I shook my head and batted at it as I tried to stop the frozen bit from expanding.
Koda got up and ignored Mana's growl as he got closer to me and sat down again sharing his warmth.
