Chapter 1 The Cursed Prince
(Aurora’s POV)
.
“Can you drive a little slower, Aurora?”
“I don’t have much time, Julia. Can you believe my dear father is marrying me off to a stranger I've never met? It is unfair! I have the right to choose who I want to marry"
“Yes. Yes,” Julia nodded with her eyes wide open as she watched the road ahead, "A notorious and cursed Human Prince!"
“Human! Urgh!” I hit the steering wheel hard in anger while my best friend Julia sat on the passenger side, looking like she was watching a horror movie. It was probably her fear of my impeccable driving skills.
I still couldn't accept this stupid news. A disgrace to my kind!
I, Aurora Regalia, am the werewolf princess of the Royal. And after the death of my brothers, I am also the only heir of the Alpha King.
When my brothers were still alive, I never thought the burden of the kingdom would fall on my shoulders. Under their wings, all I needed to do was be myself, carefreely. I was free to live my life as how it would make me happy.
And I was happy. My life was perfect.
I will never forget those days when Father returned with the broken remains of my brothers. My parents seemed to have aged ten years in an instant, and a gloom seemed to hang over the entire Kingdom.
Darkness came upon us.
As days passed, more and more had come forward to challenge my father to step down from the throne, saying he was no longer fit to sit on it. They even said that the glory days of our pack would definitely fade if the Kingdom was going to be ruled by a female like me.
A daughter of an Alpha King who has not turned into her Wolf yet, even at the age of seventeen.
And then, my arranged marriage with the Crown Prince of Rivera suddenly became a solution. Urgh!
I slapped my hand on the steering wheel again and that made Julia yelped.
What a mockery! They had no plan to train me to be a qualified Queen when I still owned the Royal Alpha blood but chose to send me and my throne to my enemy.
Logan Charming. A Human Prince who turned into a Werewolf but that didn't help us pull him to our side. Instead, he angrily began a killing spree of all supernatural beings. A way of him rejecting what he called a curse to be a Werewolf.
Ungrateful b*stard! Did he not realise that being a Werewolf made him much stronger than being a mere Human. Pathetic fool!
The bloodshed continued for ten years, and my brothers died on the battlefield one after another. A war that could have been avoided if supernatural beings sat down and talked things out, in a civilized manner.
I gritted as I stepped on the gas harder, making Julia scream even louder in her seat.
“I know you're angry. But Aurora... w-we don’t have to risk my life in this car. You can talk to your father first. Maybe.. maybe, you can convince him to change his mind, yes?"
I took a second to look at her and squinted my eyes, “You think I haven't tried that? Don't you get it, Julia? They never think I'm in a position to negotiate because I'm a girl! My value is only to be sold to a man ten years older than me. This is not the kind of future I want to be in”
“Don't think that way, Aurora. Your father always favours you and there must be a reason why he chose Prince Charming for you. Maybe, he is not as bad as you think, huh?"
"Oh really?" I scoffed as I made a sharp left turn throwing out a nice curve. Julia let out a loud scream of fear. “If you like it so much, why don’t you marry Prince Charming? I would gladly trade places with you, Julia!”
“Oh no. I have a boyfriend, don’t you remember?” Lucky Julia. Unlucky me!
"Then, let me ask that Prince Charming nicely to his face. Why the f*ck does he want me to be his bride?!"
"Are you crazy? We're not allowed to meet outsiders in private when we're still underage. And where are we going?"
"He is leaving soon after the meeting and his next visit will be on our wedding day. I have no more time Julia. This has to be the right time to meet him"
“Alright. Do I need to be there when you talk to him, Aurora? I do not know what to say.”
There were a few seconds of silence in the car. My friend, Julia’s comprehension of things could surprise us at times.
"No. You stay in the car. I have to talk to him by myself" And I would love to punch his face too.

(Charming’s POV)
.
“Logan! Hey, what are you thinking?” I snapped out of my deep thinking, looking at my friend Hector who was waving his large ugly hand before my face.
“Can you believe it, Hector?” I smirked as I clinked my glass with his. "The stubborn council of the Royal Regalia is offering to marry the only daughter of the Alpha King to me? They believe it will be the only way to make peace. How ridiculous! Insane!"
"But does it matter? What really matters is whether the union with the Werewolf Princess will help us with your little secret of a curse, isn't it?" He whispered, shooting me down with the truth. Smiling like an i***t while batting his thick eyelashes.
I was sure everyone had that one annoying friend in their life. Mine was definitely Hector.
I once again drained the glass in my hand. Happily ever after was not what a Prince like me could achieve.
Yes, I was born to be the Crown Prince of Rivera. I was a Human, but everything changed since I fell in love with a Witch.
Sam was her name and I met her in my teens. I knew she smelled trouble the moment I laid eyes on her. But the younger me did not care about the consequences. There were red flags flashing all over. I ignored all signs.
Her beauty blinded me and set my brain into numbness.
At that moment, I had forgotten my oath made for my country. And I had fought with the wrong side of the war, for her. And I became a disgrace to my family.
Sam and I were betrayed when the enemy had some spy on our side. We were both crucified under a full moon. I was already scratched and bitten. They ripped my chest trying to squeeze my heart out and I groaned in agony.
Although it happened a few years ago, the pain was still there as if it had happened only yesterday. When I touched the scar, the buried memories came rushing back into my mind.
With heartbreaking cries, I had watched Sam chanting a mystical incantation, and suddenly a powerful force surged out of her body. It flew back into mine.
A kind of warmth seeped through under my skin. It had burned my aching heart had made it pump ever so fast.
Then, I knew. She sacrificed herself to save me.
The sacrifice of true love was said to be the strongest spell that could not be broken. But I was going to find a way to end it.
Even when I was forced to marry a girl that I had never met!
I don't remember how long it took, but when my father's guards found me that night of my partial wolf transformation, I was holding Sam's lifeless body alone with bloody corpses littering my surroundings. I had killed all the supernatural beings present. Mercilessly.
I was a monster craving for warm and fresh blood. A hunger that was controlling my mind and heightened my senses. Exhilarating but frightening at the same time.
The killings caught me with a curse, which turned me into one of those damned creatures. A creature that had no name. A cursed being, that was not mentioned in any books that existed in our time.
The scene of my beloved hundred-year-old Witch dying in my arms became my nightmare. Since the time Sam died, I swore vengeance on all supernatural beings but at the same time, I was infected with this monstrous disease that obviously came from them.
My headache became more and more severe as a storm when the full moon arrived. I am not sure how many more full moons I have left in my lifespan. I was told by all of the seers that I would have to find my fated mate in order to be cured.
The time left depended on a red ruby pendant I was wearing on a necklace given by Sam before she drew her last breath. It was said once the red stone dimmed its last light, that would be when I would draw my last breath.
A prophecy was once told by a Witch who had visited my family. According to the prophecy, the only daughter of Alpha King Roman was most likely to be my mate. My last hope.
The Moon Goddess of the Werewolves was clearly making a mockery out of me. Was it her way as an act of revenge for me killing her children? I chuckled at that thought.
That was why I agreed with the outrageous truce and the unthinkable union with a Werewolf. Nothing more.
Aurora Regalia could not feel me yet because she was still under 18 and I used to be a human, having no idea how it felt to have a mate. Of course, I have read all the books to explain how I should feel.
But it was something I do not think I could feel with any other woman than with my beloved Sam. Love was dead to me the moment I lost Sam.
I couldn't fall in love with any woman since Sam's death. Alcohol along with women's v*****s was the best medicine to get me through my days of pain.
And at that moment, I was longing to have a woman warming my bed. My eyes scanned through the women at the bar to choose one to satisfy my needs for the night.
As Hector continued speaking or more like whining about his personal problems, my eyes then caught a woman walking to enter the bar we were at. She stood at the door with the wind blowing past her. A tall blonde with a well-rounded hip and fairly large breasts.
My kind of woman, indeed. Perfect for that night.
But that pretty face of hers was quickly covered with Hector’s ugly face looking straight at me. He shook his head, “No! Logan. You are engaged. Remember that. And you are to marry in less than a year. Your future father-in-law will have your head on a stake if you break that bond. And your father, my King, will have me on a stake placed next to you.”
I heard him loud and clearly. But something was bothering my mind about the blonde-haired woman I saw walking towards me. She looked troubled while walking into a bar filled with Werewolves with predatory eyes on her. I guessed, perhaps, she needed my help.
“I’m warning you, Logan. Do not cross this path. We are in Mystic Town, not Rivera. Everyone will soon recognise you.”
“I heard you, Hector.” I grabbed my friend by his collar to shut him up.
Then, I moved my eyes to look into his and nodded, “I am engaged with the daughter of Alpha Roman Regalia. My wedding will not happen until she turns eighteen next year. Until then, we are still free to do what our heart wants to do. So, for the last time, Hector. F*ck off!”
“Don’t be an i***t, Logan. I do not think what your heart wants right now is the right thing to do.”
Of course, I had ignored him.
Just because I agreed to the marriage didn't mean I would be bound by it.
When the blonde beauty looked at me, I wanted nothing else that night than to f*ck her.
