I was in New York for another two days, meeting my new editor and creative team. It was all terribly daunting. No longer was I the master of my domain; I now had other people to consider. Luckily, my initial interaction had all been positive except with the cover designer. Dustin was a bit of a diva. The moment I met him, he started throwing things at me about changing the covers of Torn and Pieces and was unhappy to hear he would not be redoing the designs. Not only that, he now had to create the cover for Shattered to mesh with the first two in the series so they appeared to have all been designed at the same time and by the same person. Initially, his words stung, but I listened patiently to his concerns and reasons for wanting to make changes. A voice boomed behind me, causing me to
