I had a lot on mind as Gabriel drove us back home. Gabriel's family seemed wonderful. They were kind and loving. I hadn't wanted to like them so much. It just meant there was even more to lose. I could have a family again here. But if I couldn't make it in the pack I would lose that shot too. I would be alone again. I had to try.
