Nico gets kicked out of Stone Moon

Chapter 4

Bree’s POV

That son of a b***h refused my rejection. The pain of him keeping me in limbo hurts. He won’t accept me, but he refuses to let me go. What kind of warped thinking is that as I come to a few minutes later, with Braxton holding my head against him as he watched Dixon fighting my mate. Dixon has grown a lot this summer and was now 6’3” tall and big for someone who isn’t 18 yet. I see that Nico is an excellent fighter as well and it is just basically a draw, as my brother defends my honor. It is very loud in the dining room and Mason is keeping our warriors from jumping in and killing that visiting Alpha. I refuse to allow Dixon to take another blow from that asshole.

I sat up and yelled out, “Stop.”

Braxton helped me to my feet and when I had my balance I walked over to my brother and took his arm in mine and ignored Nico growling at me and headed for the door to the dining area. I see my parents crossing the lobby, hand in hand, and I went right to them and started crying against my father’s chest. They couldn’t understand what I was saying, so Dixon filled them in, and the roar that left my father made most present kneel in submission. Only mom, Braxton, Mason, Dixon, Nico, and I were left standing with mom.

“What is the meaning of you refusing to take your mate as your Luna, and then denying her right to reject you as her mate. If you have made a chosen Luna, you need to let my daughter be released from your bond, so she can find her second chance mate. You have no right at all to prevent her from moving on” my father yelled out across the lobby.

“What!” I heard from behind me, and I see Asher with Jade held to his side exit the elevator and come to stand next to dad. Jade comes up next to me and slides her arm around me, in support as she watches my dad and Asher step up to Nico, to defend me.

“You come into our packland, and my sister is your mate, and you refuse her as your Luna, and then refused her rejection?” Asher asks Nico, and Nico nods at me, and the growl I heard coming from my brother even rival’s dad's growl at Nico. I see Shelby looking concerned at this point and she is no longer wearing that smug smile she has been and is looking around like she would like to escape when she finds a chance.

“Asher, you know I already have a Luna. I cannot mark her, Shelby is my Luna. There is nothing that I can do about it. My hands are tied, but I still want Sabrina too” Nico said.

“Are you insane?” My father roars out. “There is no way I would allow you to have a Luna, which is my daughter’s rightful title, for you to make her a mistress in the pack the Goddess gave to her. You ARE completely out of your mind. It is insulting and disgusting for you to even suggest it. Accept her rejection right now, or we will go to war.”

My mother, Asher, Dixon, Jade, Mason, and Braxton are all nodding in agreement on the war being the result unless Nico lets me go. I brace for the pain, but it never comes. I open my eyes and see Nico looking at me sadly, but he refuses to say the words.

“Get out, get out of our packlands right now. We will mail anything in your room back to you. I will be getting with the werewolf council on this, and I will make them force you to accept her rejection or lose your pack. I am disgusted with how you have treated my own daughter in our own home” my father tells Nico and Shelby, and she is already hustling to the door right now, leaving him behind.

"Your Luna is not your real Luna, and my sister is your true mate. Shelby has been with you for a while, but we both know you cannot mark her, and the mark stay on her. You need to let Shelby go, and accept the mate bond that the Goddess gave you" Asher tells him and is looking at Nico like he has lost his mind, as it is not a contest between us. There isn't, as I am his true mate.

“Sabrina” I heard Nico call to me. I keep my eyes closed and refused to open them for him.

“Sabrina, please look at me” Nico tries again, and I feel a lone tear going down my face.

“Sabrina, I must go. I am sorry, but you are my mate, and I need heirs. Heirs that Shelby cannot supply me to take over the pack. I need you, and I care for you. You are my mate. I had to make the deal to take care of my pack, I would do anything for my pack. I will call you later when you have calmed down” Nico told me, and my eyes fly open.

“Please, Nico, do not call me. There is nothing left for you to say. You made a choice, you did it for your pack, so release me from our bond, and go back to your pack. I reject you as my Goddess-given mate, so please just accept it. I don’t want to feel the pain of your betrayal. It was the worst pain that I have ever felt, if you care about me at all, just release me now” I asked him.

“I cannot, I need you, Sabrina. I care for you, and I want you, I just cannot make you be Luna. I will call you later, to see if you are willing to speak to me rationally about this” Nico tells me and then turns to walk to the door. He stops at the door, and gives a deep sigh, before exiting the lobby, and I sink to the floor. I am not strong enough to keep standing and the tears fall down my face.

Why, Goddess, why am I paired with him? He made his choice, and he only wants me because I will be able to give him children. I want to scream out in fury, but I know that there are still a lot of people around watching this play out, and I am suddenly embarrassed. I cover my face with my hands, and I feel someone kneel in front of me.

“I am so sorry Bree. I couldn’t have known that Nico was your mate. I wish to the Goddess that I hadn’t invited him. Nico is a good guy, and he came to train us in fighting techniques in Alpha Training, which is where I met him. He is exceptionally good at fighting, in both human and wolf form” Asher told me and pulled me in for a hug. I can tell how upset he was with what had happened, and Asher helped me up from the floor.

“Dixon fought him for me after he refused to accept my rejection. I woke up from passing out to them fighting and I refused for Dixon to be hurt over my mate being an asshole” I told my parents and Asher and they all looked over to Dixon who was speaking to Mason and Braxton. Dad and Asher both clapped Dixon on the back and dad hugged him first and told him how proud he was of him. Asher hugs him too and mentions what an excellent job Dixon did.

Dixon was frowning at them and then said, “What is going on?” Why are you suddenly both so proud of me?”

“I told them about you taking up for me after Nico refused my rejection,” I told him.

“Honey, I am surprised that you would reject him when you don’t even know him? There may just be a misunderstanding between you. You can give it some time, and see if he can work it out, and do the right thing” my mother said.

“He has a chosen mate, that human that was here with him, Shelby. He is with her, and she is his Luna. He will not mark me, and he only needs me because he cannot have children with her. He completely ignored me last night, but she knew who I was to him when she came down for breakfast, so apparently, they spoke about me with each other. I wasn’t going to reject him, by Nala told me too, that she knew he wasn’t going to accept me. I cannot make him reject me. I will not be going to live with him in his pack. I was meant to be his Luna, but he made a choice, and now he can live with it” I tell them, and I see the shocked faces of my parents, Asher, and Jade who weren’t there when he gave me the news. They had no idea that he said that he couldn’t accept me as his Luna, even though I was made for that position.

“You were right for making the choice to reject him. He already made his choice, for whatever reason he did, and now he can live with it” my mother said, and she is furious.

“Bree, for the next few months I need you to either have one of us with you if you leave the pack grounds. I think he will try to take you if you go out alone, so even if you have the girls with you, please make sure that I, Dixon, Asher, Braxton, or Mason go with you. We can’t take any chances for the next few months while I get this set up with the werewolf counsel. We have a lot of witnesses, and they will not condone him just taking you to his pack. You will not be his mistress for him to have strong pups with. He can have them with his chosen Luna” my father told me, and I nod. I was going nowhere anyway as I had that awesome pool to use now. We had talked dad into getting a pool installed here for the summer after we had such a fun time at spring break at Dark Moon, with Jade’s family. My summer plans involved that pool, so I was good with staying home. If I needed to shop, we would figure out a time, and we would all go together, and make Dixon go with us. Summer was going to be a blast.
