She gasped and I held her hand. Sparks flew all around us, and she looked at me. Her eyes flashed purple while mine flashed emerald green. Our dragons are seeing each other for the first time. Emeril grunted, he wanted her, just as much as I did, but I understood we couldn't put her at risk.
I quickly removed my hands from her. Her touch was too much for my dragon, and I was having a real fight trying to control him. “Adam,” she muttered my name, and I could hear the pain in her voice.
