Chapter 6 - Angels and Dragons.

1843 Words
Talia POV My father was f*****g unbelievable! Is he going cray cray? What is he doing? I don't remember those rules applying to Arman, and he was meant to be the f*****g king of the realm… We walked silently to his car. Roger picked up Adam 5 minutes ago, and I was livid… Dad opened the passenger door for me and I rolled my eyes… I opened the back seat door and climbed into the car. My dad scrunched his eyebrows and then sighed. I am not certain if he does understand the severity of his actions. He was completely difficult and unreasonable… I crossed my arms in front of my chest and a tear almost fell down my cheek. But I would not give anyone the satisfaction of seeing me weak… Amethyst, my dragon, was on the verge of attacking my father, and I had to spend a ton of energy in trying to soothe her and control her urges. ´Let me out… I will show that Golden Dragon!´ She huffed and puffed, while I closed my eyes. What was she going to show him? We were mixed blood, and she was trapped in a body that could only transform into an angel... I don't think we could go against Draco, and I was not sure if Draco would handle our disrespect properly. Soon we were in front of the castle, and without uttering a word, I climbed out of the car, and stomped inside the castle. My mother's beaming face greeted us… but quickly it faltered and looked between me and my dad. I huffed and walked past her. I was not in the mood to hear her excuses for her mate. I quickly made my way into my room, and there I allowed myself to break. Tears ran down my eyes, and I couldn't help but feel lost. I need Adam with me, I yearn for him, and now… my own family is making it hard for me to be happy. A soft knock interrupted my self-pity party… I knew who it was… “Come in, Mom…” I said in a defeated voice… She slowly opened the door and walked inside the room. “What is happening?” She said and sat on my bed, while I sat next to her… “Where is Adam?” She asked, and I closed my eyes. A lone tear rolled down my cheek. “Dad…” I said and immediately she sighed… “What did that Golden i***t do?” she said, and I huffed… “Well… he said that we must abide by tradition… court for a year, chaperoned... and then we can see if we can mark and mate…” I said in a sarcastic voice, while Amethyst growled inside my head, giving me a piercing headache… My mom's eyes snapped with something I didn't see coming, FURY… he was livid… “He did what?” She said every word clipped… “Yeah, so Adam tried to convey to him the fact that as fated mates we needed to be close... So he called Roger and Roy to help Adam pack his things to help him move into the castle in a SEPARATE ROOM…” I yelled the last part… and my mother's mouth hung agape. “You are joking, right? Talia?” My mother looked into my eyes, and they flashed purple… She gasped, this was the first time she saw a hint of a dragon's presence within me. “Sweetheart…” My mom said softly, and then she asked, “Do you have a dragon?” She paused, the silence heavy between us. My parents were not aware of the presence of a dragon spirit within me at all. How could they? I was kidnapped and taken away from home when I turned of age. I slowly nodded. “But, can you shift?” my mom asked, and I shook my head... “Amethyst said we might be able to do it once we meet our mate, but so far, no…” I said truthfully… “Amethyst?” Mom asked and I slowly nodded… She took a deep breath and pinched the bridge of her nose… “Talia, don't fret… I will handle your father…” She said with a spark crossing her eyes. My mother was all prime and proper, but when you crossed her, she turned almost feral… She was a force to be reckoned with, and I was sure, Daddy was in trouble. “Send him a text… tell him not to pack all his things… You guys will not stay here for long…” Mom stood up and patted my hand… “Traditions... my ass” She sighed, and I scrunched my eyebrows… “I was sure he didn't remember those traditions when…” She was about to say something else when I covered my ears. I didn't want details about how things went with my parents' mating. She laughed and gave me a reassuring od before walking out of my room. I sighed, defeated and frustrated… Amethyst mirrored my feelings, but then she broke the silence... “Our mother is different…” She said and I scrunched my eyebrows… “Different?” I asked, and she sighed, “Yes, she is a fighter…. And she will help us…” Amethyst said, and I sighed… “Amethyst, why does Adam have nightmares? Do you know?” I asked, and she retreated to the back of my mind. Suddenly I felt alone and sad… That was weird. Alexander POV I paced my office. I didn't like how defiant and rebellious Talia was becoming… What is wrong with traditions? What is wrong with proper courting? I was not asking them to be apart, I was just asking them to do things right…. I paced while Draco huffed inside my head. Ayla went to talk to her, and I am sure she will convince her that I want the best for them… She surely knows I love her deeply and I want to see if Adam is worthy of her. An hour passed, and suddenly Ayla walked in. Her stand was something I hadn't expected. She was furious. “How dare you?” She yelled, and I opened my eyes, confused as to what she meant. “I am doing this for her well-being. After all, we know very little about the guy...” I said, casually, but Ayla rolled her eyes… Suddenly, the door opened and Arman entered. Great she brought reinforcements… “Mom? Why are you yelling?” he asked, and Ayla rolled her eyes… So, she didn't call him, maybe I am the one being an ally here... “Your father!, he is unbelievable…” She said, her voice clipped and loud. Suddenly, Ava walked in, and looked at all of us… “Is something the matter?” She asked, and I sighed… “Talia found her mate…” I said, and Arman crossed his arms in front of his chest… That is good, he is not happy about his little sister being engaged in s*x… Dagda, let's not go there…. Arman and Ava looked at each other, and waited for more information… “And where are they?” Ava was the one who asked the question. “Talia is in her room…” I said and Arman growled… his eyes defiant and angry… “Why is she not with him? Who is her mate?” He asked, and I have to say, I could feel the pressure of his royal power. “Because your father here decided that Talia should comply with all the dragon traditions…. And send him packing to be here in a separate room…” Ayla said in a livid voice and I rolled my eyes. The way she is wording the issue is completely missing the point, or why I am doing this… “Are you f*****g mad?” Arman said, and Ava gasped. I was sure she was not expecting Arman to disrespect me in that way. “Watch your tone…” I said, and my mate growled... She was pissed, and somehow I managed to aggravate her even more… “I am the f*****g King, Father… and what you are doing is not only hurting your daughter, it is pushing her away from all of us…” Arman said, and when he put it that way… I was certain I would become the villain here… “I am just trying to allow her time to get to know him better…” I paused, and Ava snorted… “They have been good friends for years...” She added, and I felt like an i***t. I had no idea they had a close relationship… “What is wrong with traditions?” I lifted my eyebrows, trying to convince my rather stubborn crowd. “Nothing, when it applies to f*****g EVERYONE…” This time Arman looked at me… “I am sure I didn't court her for a year, with a chaperon, nor did I wait for my coronation to mate and mark her…” He added, and Ava looked at me with pitiful eyes, “And since you never mentioned those archaic traditions or enforced them on me… I am assuming you didn't follow them either…” Arman plunged the final nail into my coffin… “Then explain… what is it really?” Ayla asked, and I sighed… Suddenly, the weight of my outburst and my decision weighed heavy on me, but I was not ready to yield… “She is an angel, and he is a f*****g dragon…” I paused, and Ayla lifted her eyebrows and crossed her arms in front of her chest, “You know dragons don't do tender, and he is going to …” I paused, and then I stared at the room… three livid sets of eyes, and crossed arms stared back at me… “I'm an angel... So we shouldn't be together…” Ayla pointed out, and Draco growled… “Starting today, if you don't apologize to them, and correct your actions, I am sleeping in separate quarters… “ She announced, “After all, an angel is incapable of handling a dragon's d**k…” She bluntly said and turned on her heels… ready to leave the room. Arman chuckled… and Ava's eyes almost popped out of her sockets. I was sure she was not expecting my mate to be so blunt about our married life. My mom stopped by the door, and then turned around and looked at my father… “By the way, she has a dragon… Amethyst…” Ayla revealed, and immediately my eyes and the ones of my son flashed gold… Ayla left the room, and I looked at my son… He turned around, “Ava, Darling… can you check up on Talia? I need to have a word with my father…” He said in a soft voice, but I could feel this conversation was not going to be a pleasant one… I f****d up…
