I sat still in my car, taking some time to clear my head after my car came to a halt in the parking lot. I dismissed my driver despite his protests to stay and watch over me, to ensure I was unharmed.
I needed to be alone, I needed to think. I hadn’t stopped for a day to process being the new boss, Rowland’s boss as well, and even working with him, staying in the same building as him.
Everything had been moving too fast since I arrived, and I hadn’t had the time to think.
I thought Rowland would give me a hard time being his boss, but he was doing the exact opposite of that which made things even more complicated.
