The someone whom her mother said wanted to meet her is Dr Rajkumar Joshi - the nice doctor she’s supposed to marry. He’s talking to Devan in the living room and the moment Nila and Jaden walked in, they stopped talking and looked up. He stood up and smiled. When he noticed Nila and Jaden’s linked hands, a look of relief crossed his expression before he hid it with a pleasantly neutral expression.
“This is the doctor I’ve been telling you about! Raj, this is my daughter, the accountant, Neha,” Nila’s mother bustled over, clearly ignoring Jaden.
Dr Rajkumar stood up and extended his hand politely. Nila had no choice but to take it to be polite. She gave his hand a firm squeeze before releasing it like dropping something hot.
