THERE is something strange about Dr. Martin when I went back to his office the day of our appointment. I don’t know if I am just being too sensitive or what but it felt as if he cannot look at me for more than a few seconds. He has been like that since I entered his office.
I also noticed that he was not wearing the white coat he always wears every time we meet. Today he was in a long-sleeved polo, the sleeves folded up to his elbows and was tucked inside his black slacks.
I didn’t see any patients on my way here so I wonder why he looked so invested in the opened folder he was holding. Was he pretending that he just finished a consultation so he has an excuse not to look at me? He didn’t look up when he asked me to sit and his voice even sounded a little angry.
