Noyini Guardian feat Cyclops II
Warning! RATED SPG: Violence & Gore
You’ve been warned.
THIRD PERSON's POINT OF VIEW
Zaire watches as the cyclops started to gather in front of her, the sounds of their low growls filled the entire area. Those cyclops who were devouring the bodies of both horses and humans are now finished and are looking at her, their mouth with their canines snarling at her, almost grinning.
Her brows shot up. 'Is that supposed to intimidate me?' She asks herself and smirks.
Sure, these cyclops are the size of a horse than a full-grown dog and their stench is more overwhelming than before but that is all there is to them and Zaire knows. Their upgrade lies on their size, their magic energy is still the same, she thought it upgraded for even a bit but she's never been wrong seeing the faint color blue from their bodies, like an aura. It even looks weaker and their intelligence? Still the same, if ever they have.
'Let's wrap this up.'
[Light of Protection]
A sphere of golden light wraps her entire body as she moves, gesturing her right hand towards the group of six cyclops with their eyes glowing and dashing towards her, another sphere of the same spell fall upon them rendering the cyclops unable to move and trap inside with their beams fired against each other when it hits the barrier and bounced around inside it. She chuckles, satisfied with how the result of her little experiment is.
Her eyes then gaze towards another three cyclops aiming towards her, using wind magic to help her body to feel lighter, she flew around the cyclops while chuckling because those cyclops who fired her with their laser beams are now hitting their own comrade— who are not even reacting even though the beams are just in front of them— they are focused on her alone.
'Eleven down, four to go.'
Without tilting her head to the side, from her peripheral point of view, another laser beam is fired on her side.
[Earth Smash]
A hand made from the soil the same size as the cyclops on her side smash the living daylights of the said monster, after smashing the monster, the soil returned to its original form like its melting.
'Three more.'
Removing the Light of Protection spell and placed it on the carriage, she sat on the horse and watch as the three cyclops, unfeeling of fear despite seeing what the fate of their comrades, hurl at her while growling.
She laughs at them.
[Earth Wall]
A gigantic wall rise from the ground blocking her view of the cyclops and vise versa. Zaire's head tilted and when she felt the gathering of magic energy around a specific part of the cyclops, she mumbled, "Collapse." and as if on cue, the gigantic wall collapsed in front of the cyclops, however, it's not only that, but the spear made of earth placed upon the wall penetrated the cyclops creating holes on their body. She gestured her hand for a light gust of wind to brush the dust as a result of the impact from the spell, after the wind brushes the dust it revealed the result just as she expected. Cyclops with holes in their body like polkadots.
Zaire grinned and walk towards them but she took a step back as dark smoke ooze from their body. Placing another light barrier to her and the carriage, she watches as the dark smoke rise, she looks around and the same is happening to the other cyclops. Dark smoke is oozing out from their body, after the smoke completely rises from them it gradually dissipates.
'Is that shadow magic?' She thought, it almost seems like a shadow. Looking at the cyclops, their color and their body sizes returned to normal.
'What the hell?'
Zaire works her brain cells out to think of what could be the possible reason when a clap sounded on her left. She abruptly turns and met with four men, they are muscled and intimidating looking although smaller compared to barbarians but nonetheless, in front of them, Zaire looks like a kid.
"That was an impressive earth and light magic you got there Miss." Said that man in the middle. Zaire secretly enforced her body with magic energy from the surroundings and regarded the people in front of her warily. "You look tense, don't fret young Miss for we are not here to cause trouble but our services rather."
'Services?'
She straightened her body and jutted her chin, a good thing she wore a facemask and used a commoners carriage because if these guys find out she's from a noble house, she already has an idea of what might happen.
"Service? What is it?"
The man in the middle, the one who is obviously the leader. "We offer protection until you reach your destination, Miss."
"Protection?" She repeated to which they nodded their head. Zaire wanted to laugh. Protection from what exactly? It seems to her that these guys think so lightly of her. "I have a question before I answer you."
"Is that so? Go ahead.."
She looks at them one by one and she settled her gaze to the man in the middle, the leader. "How long have you been here?" She needs to know just how long does this group of men been here, watching her.
"Oh, us?" The man answered with a smug smirk while glancing at his companions who share the same expression. "We've been here since these pals arrived. We couldn't help so we hid instead." He shrugs.
‘You mean to say you hid and watch these monsters devour these people...’
Naive. She’s been naive all this time since arriving in this world. She’s reminded that wherever, may it be this world or her former world, scums and low-life like these guys exist. How could she forget? Just because she now lived a comfortable life compared to her former one, because now that she has Elise and her Mom, Kate Bluerose, it slipped her mind the terror of her former one?
Zaire’s brow twitch and she sighs.
‘Stupid... so stupid!’
The leader of the bandit smirks while looking at the young lady. She may have a dual-magic, and excellent in manipulating those, it does not guarantee her safety traveling. The woman needs them, their service. Who would say no to such offer made by the leader of the renowned group of bandits? Only fools would.
“She’s taking a long time answering, boss.”
His underling on his right whispered. He hummed and continued watching the lady, her head is bowed, he couldn’t see her face and just her tied hair, she is also wearing a mask to cover the lower part of her face but the he, the great leader of Road Bandits knows that this lady fears him.
Although her magic is decent, looking at her magic energy she could be an Intermediate level, weak in his opinion compared to him in his High Advance level. The young lady is a small fry and because of that, she needs their protection.
‘Hehe, I can smell silver and gold.’
Although their carriage— now protected with a light barrier— he knows they have valuable treasures with them. Last night was the Hidden Market, I’m sure they’ll be able to squeeze some wonderful belongings from them.
His face morphed into a wide grin at the same time, the lady raised her head.
A sudden change in the surroundings happened, as he met the pair of green eyes possessed with unknown emotions twirling on her depth, like the goddess of nature is hidden within those eyes, an unknown pressure wrapped them, it rendered them unable to move.
“B..Boss..!!”
His underling without magic dropped to their knees, gasping. He on the other hand remained stiff, unable to move while staring directly in the same orbs.
The pressure emitting from the lady remained, if not, it keeps on increasing, he couldn’t see it but he can feel it, clearly. The magic energy from her and the environment, they’re magnetized to her.
Joe, the leader of the renowned group of bandit felt his knees buckle but he remained standing with the help of his magic. A violent gust of wind passed by them, he raised his hands to cover his face from the attack of both the wind and the dust, even the pebbles.
‘What’s this...?’
Joe thought as he enforced himself with magic uncaring of his underling whether they’re dead or alive from this pressure of magic energy, it doesn’t matter, they don’t matter, it’s him. Only him matters, his survival is what matters.
He started to chant but as if on cue, his magic base stilled, the same pressure petrifying him, his chanting halted as he slowly felt something rose from within him.
His stomach churn along with an endless buzzing in his ears, screams of terror envelop his senses, he can’t see it but he can feel it.
The magic energy, the presence, it’s something...inhuman.
‘No no...!’ He frantically look around only to realize that nothing is with him, no one is with him, he’s nowhere.
Somewhere...
Somewhere frightening yet... magical, divine and powerful.
“How dare a measly low-life like yourself upset her?”
A soft voice said. The softness of her voice along with a tinge of coldness resonated in the entire place creating echoes. Joe flinch and once again look around yet there’s no one.
“Pathetic...” It said. The voice sounded louder this time, louder and familiar. Soft but harsh.
“Wh...Who are you?!” Joe screamed at her, at it.
It chuckles, amused.
“Why is that? I can taste your fear, low-life..” a cold wind gust on his left and he abruptly turns to his left but there was none. Another chuckle, this time on his right, directly on his ear, he frantically turn to his right yet once again, none.
He tried to calm himself but all to no avail, no matter how much he deceive himself, tell himself that he’s not afraid he knows more than anyone else that he is. He’s sweating bullets, his hands and knees are shaking, continues warning bells are ringing on his head like a warning but warning of what...of whom he doesn’t know. What he knows is...
He is in danger.
The presence continuously made itself known, releasing its magic energy which seems endless, immeasurable, infinite.
The difference in power between him... and the being. It slapped him, awoken the fear that he thought no longer exists.
‘Please... please...!’ He couldn’t talk, he couldn’t voice out his fear because his fear is overwhelming him.
He swallowed his dry saliva, it slowed down his throat agonizingly as if a timing him and finally... it spoke again.
“Your arrogance is what kills you.” It whispered. This time, it’s a he.
“Indeed that is true!” The familiar soft voice agreed.
The voice, the it is no longer alone.
Presence after presence appeared, their aura and magic energy emitting from them made choke him. His throat is twisting, something is gripping his lungs. The air seems polluted, toxic even.
“What... who are you?!” He yelled feigning bravery but to them it’s futile.
The man has chosen death. No, something worse is better.
“Silence you imbeciles!” A loud voice announced. Hushes and whispers of agreement sounded next while Joe, the poor bandit looks around in hope of seeing the unknown beings with him but just like before, there’s nothing too see of them but he knows they’re here, around him, their presence are presented and not once did they hide it.
“This human, no, this low-life is found guilty of upsetting the Mistress.” The same voice announced. “For that sin, he shall be beheaded.”
His eyes widen and is ready to plea, however, the voice spoke once again.
“But, because we, me in particular is the embodiment of the Mistress’ compassion, we shall change his verdict.” Joe heaved a sigh of relief his face forming a rejoiced expression while murmurs of disagreement occur. He won’t be beheaded. This one being must have known how great he is, he doesn’t even know what sin they are referring to but the being who spoke must have known and seen his potential for greatness.
He bowed, “thank—”
“Rather than beheading him, we shall remove his limbs one by one, pull out his internal organs, and finally, suck his magic out of him along with his life force, slowly but surely.”
The announcement left the leader of the bandits with wide eyes, his mouth agape and his skin turning pale, as if right at the moment, his life force is being suck out of him.
ZAIRE LEVI’s POINT OF VIEW
Weak. I’m still weak. The power I have now is still not enough, far from enough.
I blink my eyes open to see that the vast blue sky awoke me, green leaves falling and floating freely from the soft gust of wind.
“My lady...?” I turn to my side, it was Elise, as expected. She sniffled and the brim of her eyes are filled with tears.
My forehead creases trying to remember what happened after I defeated the cyclops and met with those bandits but none. Did I blackout after being pissed off by those idiots? Damn, I feel embarrassed and frustrated.
“Ssh don’t cry. I’m alive Elise.” I tell her and tried to sit only to fall back. Why is my body sore like I had a wonderful but exhausting night? Holy s**t. Panicked, I turned to Elise. “What happened to me? Where are we?!” I ask while looking at her and the place. It looks like were in another inn. The bed feels comfortable although a bit hard compared to my bed but who cares, better than sleeping outside.
“Calm down my lady, we’re in the small village of Trapo.” I nodded my head and urge her to tell me what happened after I majestically blackout. “We couldn’t open the carriage after you place a barrier on it my lady, we were unaware of what was happening outside, our only basis were the sounds from your fight. We also know about the arrival of those bandits, however we were unaware of what happened afterwards. The place fall into chaos, the magic energy around the place is frightening my lady, Carlito lost his consciousness while I barely managed with the elf’s help, even the ice elf was having a hard time. When it’s done, the two of us heard a loud scream of a man and eventually, everything died down. When we exit the carriage, someone is in front of you and protecting you from the bandit who tried to attack you, my lady.”
Someone protected me from a bandit’s attack?
“Where is that someone?” Elise wiped her tears and smiled. A pang of guilt hits me.
“I’m sorry for worrying you Elise. How is Carlito?” Carlito, I think it’s the coachman’s name. I feel guilty again because I haven’t asked the man’s name who all this time took us to different locations. I should talk to him some other time.
Elise left the room and when she came back, a familiar boy with long black hair is with her, along with the ice elf.
“You are finally awake, human.” The ice elf said, “I expected so much from you since you insisted on fighting alone only to end up unconscious. Humiliating.” She added. I felt my face twitch in irritation. What the hell, this ice elf really has some face. I want to learn from her.
I didn’t respond to her and looks at the boy with Elise.
“It’s him?” I questioned to which Elise nods her head. “Oh...” Well, that was rather unexpected. To think such young boy would save my life, save our lives. It’s the same boy we met who was bullied by some noble. “I’m seriously shock right now but more than anything else, I’m thankful. Thank you for saving my life!” I said.
The young bot looks up to me and suddenly kneeled one of his knee and bowed. “Please accept me as your servant, my lady. I swear to devote my life to your sake and safety!” He belted.
I turn to Elise but she just smiled at me. Him? As my servant? “But... you’re too young. Isn’t it child labor?” I asks.
He looks up, confused. “Child labor?” I nodded my head. “At ease my lady, I am 17 years old and capable of protecting you.”
“Huh..?! Seventeen?!”
What the hell?! How does a ten-year-old looking boy like him two years younger than me?!
Suddenly, his body is enveloped with brown light and when it’s done, in front of us is no longer the boy but a young lean man, whose hair reach his waist wearing all black, like a ninja. More importantly, he’s handsome as fvck!
He looks up to me, brown eyes looking directly at me. “This is my true form my lady, if you’d like I can serve you using this form.”
Yeah sure.
Ugh! As much as I’d like to say that, I can’t. If he’s using his form as a boy, I feel like there’s a reason for it and asking him to use his older and handsome version over his cute one, it doesn’t sit well with me.
I sigh. “What’s your name?”
“Blake my lady. I’m at your mercy, please, accept me as your servant.”
Err, servant?
“All right Blake. You’re now one of my subordinate. Welcome aboard.” I said nonchalantly and turn around. My neck feels sore looking at him while laid in bed. I must have looked like a sick person, partly. “You can all go now. I’ll be taking a nap.” I said, quietly, they followed, even the elf silently did. Amazing.
