I knocked on a door, and Jaime looked up from his desk. My brothers and I walked into the office and sat down in chairs. Jaime leaned back in his chair.
“Why do I have a feeling this isn’t a social visit?” Jaime asked.
“Because it’s not,” Nix said.
Jaime looked at us.
“You can’t call Shaun to corroborate the tape,” I said.
“Why not? He was part of the situation,” Jaime said.
“Because Shaun was in rehab,” Nix mentioned.
“What?” Jaime said, looking at us.
“Look,” Nolan said, handing Jaime a disc.
Jaime put the disc into his laptop and played it, which showed dates and times. It also showed Shaun’s greatest hits.
“So, as you can see, there’s no way Shaun could have known about the situation. He wasn’t there,” Nathan said.
