Meredith wasn't at the office all week, and Max didn’t look for her either. He just didn't know what to do. To apologize would have been too much for his alpha pride, it would have meant admitting he was wrong. Completely resigned he chose to do the simplest thing. To do nothing.
"She'll never forgive me, but now I understand why," he tells Sam.
“But, Max, she is your mate. You can't just abandon the idea of the bond mate and ignore it. " and Sam is already pissed. "You have to keep trying"
"No Sam, I just realized that back then I was more than a jerk. I'll leave her alone. She hates me, this is clear. I thought it was just a tactic of hers to ignore me, but she really does it from conviction, not for any particular purpose. "
