Summer P.O.V.
The club was already full by the time we got there. Natalie showed the bouncer her fake I.D. and slipped a hundred-dollar bill to seal the deal, and voila! We were in. Natalie and I pushed through the crowd until we reached the bar. It was the same bartender from last night. I read his name tag that said, Andre.
"Hey!" Natalie switched to her seductress persona and gave Andre her signature 'come hither' look.
"What can I get you?" Andre said, completely unimpressed. He must be gay or already tired of women's I'm hot, give me free stuff attitude. I feel you Andre, I totally do. Maybe she should try showing him some boobs next.
"I was wondering if anyone turned in a lotus-shaped diamond earring? You see, its a family heirloom my great grandmother left for me before she died of lung cancer and it has a special place in my heart." Natalie sniffled.
I scoffed at her bullshit story but kept my face straight. I could see Andre bought her story and was thinking hard. I thought he was smart. Come on Andre, I was rooting for you!
"Um...sorry sweetheart, it's a big club. Anything of value like that isn't usually turned in for the lost and found." Andre said and went back to mix drinks without saying another word.
Natalie sighed, but I knew she still wasn't going to give up. She wanted that earring. She needed it. I'm sure at this point, she'd sell her first born for it, I mean I'd do the same. HONESTLY. It was so damn expensive.
"I am gonna retrace my steps by dancing in that spot." She pointed at a small group of people dancing. "you go look in the bathroom.
"I am starting to think this was just a ploy to drag me into this club for the second time." I slapped my forehead.
"Please just do this," Natalie whined.
"Fine." I gave up and headed towards the bathroom. I was about to open the door but it was locked. Someone must be using it. I waited for a couple of seconds then decided to explore the other parts of the club. I walked towards the back where it was quieter and paused when I heard voices coming from a small room. Sounded like someone was arguing.
"Please....don't hurt me! I didn't do anything I swear!" One voice said. He sounded terrified.
It sounded like a line from a cheesy Mafia movie and I was intrigued. So, I decided to stay and listen.
"You took something that belonged to someone else." Said another person with a deep husky voice.
Wait, haven't I heard that voice before?
"I don't know what you mean! Just tell me what it is and I'll give it back." The original voice cried.
I moved closer to the door. It was slightly open and I could see the light inside. I moved even closer so I could see who was talking. What can I say, my curiosity over powers me sometimes.
A muscular tattooed hand was holding a man's head firmly on the table, so firmly that he couldn't move. He had a beard and his face was red and blue as his blood circulation was cut off by the said hand. It looked like his jaw was broken.
I've seen that hand before. I thought.
"Please...I think you dislocated my jaw. You are hurting me so just tell me what it is that I took and I will give it back!" The bearded man spoke again.
There was a pause. I waited eagerly for the tattoo man's answer, this was getting intense.
"Too late." the deep voice said and he lifted the beard man's head, exposing his throat. Before I realized what was happening, the tattooed arm made a swiping motion and all I saw was a flash of metal swing near the beard man's throat. Blood started to gush out of his slashed throat and I felt dizzy.
I gasped and pressed both of my hands on my mouth but it was too late. The killer heard me and I was about to join the bearded man on the floor. I was frozen in fear. I should be running away but my legs weren't listening to my brain for some reason. The tattooed arm dropped the now dead beard man on the floor and approached me. Pretty soon I was face to face with the killer.
It was the guy I sold chocolate cupcake to, aka Mr. Gorgeous aka s*x Mountain aka the Greek god impostor. Oh great, even if I miraculously escape tonight, he knows where I worked.
I am screwed beyond belief.
