Chapter 5 Everlee’s POV Continued

1731 Words
At some point after Abby’s interrogation, I had finally drifted off to sleep. I don’t know for how long I had been asleep before I felt a gentle shake. I tried unsuccessfully to shoo whoever was trying to wake me but their insistent shaking continued, though more forceful then before. Groaning, I pry my eyes open to see the same wolf from earlier staring down at me. “Come on, he is waiting for you.” He adds. “Who?” I asked confused, as I rubbed the sleep from my eyes and sat up, the bed groaning under my weight loudly in the quiet room. “The actual leader.” He whispers as he removes the chain from my plastic cuffs and leads me to the door of the room and out into the hallway. Stopping in my tracks, I turned and stared up at him. “What does he want with me?” I asked terrified of what his answer might be. Praying to the Moon Goddess that she wouldn’t let anything bad happen to me while I was in there with the leader. “Not sure he just asked that you be brought to him. Piece of advice, do not act like how you did with my wolf earlier.” He says, and continues down the hall to a set of stairs. “What do you mean?” “Do not challenge him. His wolf thrives on it and there is nothing he likes more than a good chase of fight. Keep your eyes down and act as meek and submissive as possible. He likes that.” He says, but his face shows a bit of concern as we reach the top of the stairs at the end of the hallway. I nodded, deciding to heed his warning and not do anything that might garner me more unwanted attention than I had already received. At the top of the stairs there is another large hallway with several doors along the wall. We made our way down the hallway before stopping in front of a large door. He raises his hand and knocks twice, and we wait until there is a voice that calls out to enter from the other side of the door. Slowly, he turns the handle, giving me one last look that says to behave and do as he said before he pushes the door open wide and leads me inside the room. It was a large office that had a few small windows on the other side of the room. There was a large dark wood desk that was sitting directly in front of the windows with a large leather-backed chair that was turned facing away from us as we entered the room. I could feel the power that was filling the room even if I could not see the source of it. The large chair slowly turns around, revealing its occupant, and I take a step back as his dark gaze meets mine. He was a large man, his torso filling every inch of the chair. His muscles were bulging from under his white dress shirt as he flexed his muscles. His light brown hair is short on the sides and a bit longer on top and is styled to where it was slicked back out and away from his face. “You may leave now.” He says to the wolf that had brought me here, as he never takes his eyes off me. I can see the blackness of his wolf starting to come through even more as he watches me closely. I could feel the color drain from my face as I looked up at the wolf that was next to me and he too looked a bit nervous about leaving me alone with his leader. Though he said I should not challenge him, I never thought that I was going to be left alone with the man. “Deal with the rest of those that feel the need to manhandle my merchandise and get the rest of the women ready for the trip to the auction house. We should be ready to leave within the next two days.” He says before adding, “You may go now!” And there is no way anyone could have missed the command that he had added at the end. Suit wolf gives me one last look before he leaves the room, closing the door softly behind him. The leader pulls out a tablet and sets it down in front of him before he looks back up, meeting my gaze. I stayed rooted in my spot, afraid to move even an inch while in his presence. I can see the lust, the desire that is written all over his face as he looks me over before rising from the leather chair and walking around to the front of the desk and leaning against it. “Come here!” He commands. But my body refused to move as I lowered my eyes to the ground. I did not need to act as if I was terrified right now. The feeling was happening on its own. I did not want to be anywhere near this man, I wanted to take a step back and throw the door open and race away as fast as I could just to get the hell away from him, but the dangerous aura around him and the warning that suit wolf had given me kept my feet firmly in place. He stood to his full height then and walked across the room until he was standing directly in front of me. The suddenness of his movements startled me, causing me to look up into his face. s**t, that was a bad idea. His nostrils flared, and I could see a tick in his jaw as he stared down at me. “When I tell you to do something you are to do it, do you understand?” He growls out and I watch as his fist opens and closes. That same boldness that had come over me downstairs when Abby was hit happened again, “No”, the word coming out all on its own as if it were not me even speaking and someone else had spoken through me. What the hell is going on, I thought to myself. The darkness in his eyes grew even darker and the warning that Trigger had said before we entered the room replayed in my head, ‘Do not challenge him. His wolf thrives on it and there is nothing he likes more than a good chase of fight. Keep your eyes down and act as meek and submissive as possible.’ Well, that had flown out the window because I had now done both. “Someone has a backbone, I see.” He says as he reaches up and takes a loose piece of my hair that had fallen with his fingers and twirled it around his finger. “That’s ok I will enjoy breaking you.” He adds with a smirk as he lets the haiir he had been twirling fall. He growled low in his chest, a slow sinister smirk pulling at his lips. Finally, my feet are able to move and I quickly take several steps back away from him, but that does not do any good. For every step I take back it is eaten up by his larger ones. I feel the coolness of the wooden door as it meets my back. Unable to go any farther, he cages me in between his large arms, cutting off any chance I had of escaping. “You belong to me, and you will do what I say when I say it.” He growls his face a mere inch from mine, and I can feel his breath as it brushes across my cheek. “You want to make a bet on that?” I asked with that same surge of confidence coming out of nowhere, my voice no longer even sounded like me as I taunted him. What is happening to me? A smile pulls at the corner of his mouth and his gaze locks onto mine. “I would not challenge me if I were you. You won't like the outcome.” He says as he leans in closer. “I always win.” He adds in my ear. I only have an idea of what he means when he says that I belong to him and I pray to the Moon Goddess that he only means because he bought me and not that he was going to use me for his own personal needs. My stomach rolls dangerously close to bringing up the little bit of food I had managed to eat that day. . “Fight” a voice said inside my mind. The same one from earlier when the suit wolf had asked for my help to get the others out of there. Bringing my hands up, I shove the leader with everything I have but he does not move an inch. His laughter rumbled out of his chest as I once again tried to shove him away from me. He was standing so close that there is no way I could move him, unless. The idea flickered through my mind, and I brought my knee up without any hesitation. He grunted in pain as he took a step back clutching his balls and I took my chance. Stepping to the side, I reach for the handle and throw the door open, but before I can even make a run for it, a hand closes over my wrist in a painful grip and yanks me back inside and up against the wall next to the door. His face is full of rage as he pants heavily. Grabbing my still zip-tied hands, he pins them up above my head. “I told you I always win!” He says before he pushes my head to the left and sinks his teeth into my marking spot. A scream rips from my throat as dark spots begin to dance across my vision. I can feel as he retracts his canines and his tongue glides over the bite, sealing it. “I always win.” He says again as the darkness finally takes me into its depths.
