Chapter 7: The Party Crasher

I went down into the kitchen trying to decide what cook for dinner. Looking through the cabinets not really finding anything.
So I decided to make a quick run to the store. I found out from her mother that tortellini was one of her favorites, but they didn't have any.
The nearest store was 30min away, but they didn't really have anything I wanted to make.
A quick trip couldn't hurt. I left a note for Jade just in case she wakes up. I grab my jacket from my room and the keys.
It was only 9:00 so it shouldn't be that late when I come back.
Jade P.O.V

Jade was asleep until she heard her phone buzz. She picked it up seeing that her friend Lashai is calling. " Hello," Jade said sleepily.
She heard laughter, music, and people in the background. 'oh no she is at a party. here we go again" Jade thought to herself.
"Don't say anything, where are you at?" Jade asked Lashai. Jade knew that her friend had gotten drunk.
" I'm at Charles' party," Lashai replied in an emotional voice.
Jade put shoes on, grabbed keys to her old car, and got her driver's license to continue going to Charles's party.

Jade finally made it to Charles's party to see that there was furniture on fire in the yard, drunk people everywhere, and a few half-n***d people making out in the yard.
Jade looked for Lashai, but she was nowhere to be found. " Hey, Jay come have a drank," Charles told Jade.
"I can't, have you seen Lashai anywhere?" Jade asked Charles out of pure concern for her friend.
" Last I check she was upstairs with Aditya," Charles replied loud over the music.
' oh s**t'. Jade said to herself. She made her way upstairs going into the only door that was closed.
Once she was inside she saw Lashai strapped to the bed crying.
"Lashai what the hell happened to you!? Jade asked while untying her friend.
Lashai got up hugging her best friend and crying. Jade held Lashai for a little while but realized they needed to leave.
Lashai didn't say anything but just followed Jade to her car.
They rode in the car in silence all the way to Jade's house.
Jade knew that Aditya was Lashai´s ex-boyfriend. In the second year of them being together, Aditya came to Lashai place. They were on a Netflix and chill date.
Lashai told him that she wasn't ready to do anything, but he didn't listen. He tied her down and took her.
It was only Lashai and Jade that knew about what all had happened because later she escaped to Jade's house seeking shelter.

They finally made it back to Jade's place, and they went upstairs to Jade's room.
"I should tell you something, but I wanna hear what happened. You are more important than the news I have."
Jade told Lashai. Lashai sat on her bed while Jade went to get her clothes to wear tonight.
"How long can I stay?" Lashai asked.
Jade looked at her with a comforting smile on her face replying, "As long as you like."
Jade went back to get her clothes. She gave Lashai a pair of sweat pants and a t-shirt that said wake me up when I care.
"Oh, Lashai," Jade called out.
Lashai stopped where she was ( at the door of the bathroom.) "Yes?" Lashai asked.
Jade patted her hand on the bed, and Lashai sat down once again.
"There is something I have to tell you, but you have to keep it an absolute secret," Jade told Lashai.
Jade could see she wasn't in the mood to talk, but she was interested. So Lashai nodded her head for Jade to continue.
" Remember Mr.Brooks, well Ben, he is living with us, and I don't want you to freak out when you see him. I can already see you shipping us together, but it's not like that. So please keep the secret. You can't even tell Emma. Okay?" Jade asked seeing her friend face shocked.
"Jade to pull no jokes I'm not in the mood, and yes you two would be a great couple. If you´re not pulling my leg on this just to get me emotional my lips are sealed. I trust you. I promise the information will not leave this house.
Well, I'm going to take a shower, then go to sleep. Thank you again for saving my a*s. I love you!"
Lashai promised Jade and then went to go get in the shower.
Jade went downstairs to let Lashai have her room. When she made it to the living room she couldn't help but notice that Ben wasn't there.
She looked in the kitchen to find no one there. She shrugged her shoulders retreating to the TV.
20 minutes later she heard someone at the door. She saw Ben come inside the house with grocery bags.
She knew Lashai was still in the bath, and she was glad about it.
"I see your awake now. How long?" Ben asked Jade.
Jade paused the TV making her way to the kitchen with him like it was a normal thing to do.
She loved the closeness and felt so happy just to see him. It sounded stupid, but she couldn't help it even if she wanted to.
" We need to talk," Jade told Ben while she was sitting on the counter. Ben raised an eyebrow, making a hmm sound.
"There is someone staying over, don't worry though she will just be in my room all night. She mostly won't eat anything just to let you know." Jade told Ben nervous about what might respond.
"Is she a student?" He asked. He wasn't giving her all his attention, but he was listening.
"Y-yes," Jade said weakly. He turned around stopping to look at Jade. He put his hands beside her legs on the counter.
"Jade, why did you let her in here?! We could get caught! You could get in serious trouble having me live with you knowing we aren't blood." He told her angry but calmed.
His attitude was mostly surprised and worried. Jade thought about what he said and realized that he didn't worry about himself. He didn't even include him in the sentence.
He either said about Jade, or us being caught. Not that there was an us. Jade thought to herself.
"It's okay she is my best friend she was in danger! I had to! I wouldn't leave her in the situation she was in. Also, I already told her, and she thought I was telling a joke, but she promises not to tell anyone. You just have to trust me."
Jade told Ben. Ben looked Jade in the eye worried for her sake but soon relaxed.
He had to trust her because there was no way in hell she would abandon her best friend after what just happened.
" Okay," Ben replied.
"Okay?" She asked.
It's not like that's what she wants him to say that's exactly what she wanted him to say.
It's just she thought he would put up more of a resistance, but what can you expect.
Well, one thing you couldn't expect was when Ben got close to Jade after their conversation.
He was close enough where Jade could feel his breath on her. Soon he pulled away from her a little.
Which made her blush at the thought of how close they were. She got down from the counter just to almost fall on the ground. Instead of hitting the ground, she fell on Ben.
Underneath her, she could feel his muscles. She could feel he had abs.
When she looked up and stood up she realized how close they were.
Then not paying attention to her surroundings she heard a cough at the kitchen entrance.
She saw Lashai looking at them. Ben let go of Jade and went to go cook dinner.
Jade took that as her signal to leave with Lashai to her room. "Wow, see I knew you had a crush on him, and so did Emma. That just proves how much we know you.'' Lashai whispered as she made her way upstairs with Jade.
