Chapter 8: Big surprises

Lashai and Jade finally made it to Jade's room, but all the way up the stairs she just ignored Lashai's comment.
Lashai layed down on the bed and soon fell asleep. Jade just laid there covering her friend as if she was trying to protect her.
Soon Jade's phone buzzed. She looked down to see that she had been texted by two unknown numbers.
She checked one it said, 'dinner is ready come down.' she knew exactly who it was, but how did Ben get her number?
The other one she checked to only get scared for Lashai's life. 'Hand her over. You have until Sunday afternoon. Meet me at the bridge. If you don't I will come get her myself. She is mine.'
Jade didn't see that she turned pale, but she did. Now she was scared for her friend. Instead of waking Lashai up, she went downstairs.
Once she made her way into the kitchen she saw two bowls of tortellini ready.
She looked up a little to have been welcomed with the sight of Ben shirtless.
She started from his hands looking up. He had a well-built chest that suited him, abs that made a six-pack, and smooth.
She looked up seeing his face only to be welcomed with a smirk. She caught herself from staring at him. Only because she started blushing, and drooling.
"My shirt got ruined, and I hadn't had the time to get a shirt. I decided to save the tortellini instead of getting one, but I can tell you don't mind." Ben told Jade.
Jade scowled at Ben. She saw Ben grab both bowls, and pointed for her to follow him. She found the living room set up. There were candles as the light, a white rose on the table, with an episode of doctor who ready to be played, and a blanket.
Wow. Jade thought to herself. He smiled and put the dinner down on the table.
She sat down next to him not making any contact just looking around until she finally looked at him.
She was met with a smiling Ben. Not one of those 'smiles'. It was a genuine smile on his face.
It was adorable Jade thought. So she couldn't help but smile back. " What is this?" Jade asked.
He smiled. "It's dinner. You might want to eat it before it gets cold."
He replied. Jade took a bite while being watched by a nervous Ben. It was funny because this was the first time she has seen him nervous.
"Mm. This is delicious! I love it!" Jade told Ben who just smiled even more at her words.
"I'm glad you did," Ben replied to Jade. Ben put his hand on her leg and tasted the food he had made.
Jade watched smiling not even knowing what had gotten into her. She didn't even like him, and she just is here for the food.
Her body said otherwise, and she hated how he had control over her body.
"Your right it is delicious!" Ben told Jade distracting her from her thoughts.
"Why did you do all this?" Jade asked while eating her food. Jade was almost done with her food when he answered.
"I thought you deserved it," Ben replied. Jade stopped eating and looked at Ben dead straight in the face confused.
"How?" Jade asked. Ben just kept eating before he stopped to look back at her.
"It was to show you that your not alone in this world and that someone out there cares for you. Now no more questions, and eat your food before it becomes cold." Ben replied a little harsher than he had meant to.
She nodded her head giving him a weak smile. She finished her food, and just laid back on the couch. " Agh, that was so good! I feel like I'm about to die of so much delicious food!"
Whined Jade. She didn't mean to let her childish moment out, but she couldn't help it. The food was just too good not to whine about how delicious it was.
Jade could hear Ben laugh at her. She looked at him and pouted. She mentally slapped herself for letting loose.
She ignored him and pressed play on an episode of Doctor Who that was still on pause.
She laid back on the couch watching one of her favorite episodes with Ben.
Without realizing it somehow she had ended up close beside him where she could feel his heat on her.
She soon found herself drifting off to sleep. One of her favorite parts was on so she woke back up to watch it.
Soon she wasn't strong enough to fight it and fell asleep. She felt something warm. Not even thinking about what it was she was laying on she went to sleep.
Jade started to have the same dream about her father when she was a little girl. She woke up in pure shock to be in a sleeping Ben's arms.
'He must have got tired too.'Jade thought. She tried to leave, and remove herself from his arms without waking him up.
She failed. He didn't wake up, but his hold on her got tighter. She didn't have the strength to leave so she cuddled him, and went back to sleep.
When Jade woke up, Lashai had come downstairs already dressed for the day."Where are you going?" Jade asked.
Lashai looked at her and said one simple word school. Jade got up running upstairs but then realized that Ben was already gone.
She just thought she would ride to school with Lashai, and went into her room to get dressed.
(Just choose what you want her to wear I am out of ideas.) Once she got dressed she went downstairs to meet Lashai, and go to school.
Jade and Lashai arrived at school late, because they made a short trip to Starbucks.
