I love the moon. I love how it glows every night. But tonight? It was so different. It's like I'm seeing moonlight in the middle of the year. It was June 1 today. So I decided to invite Celine to the park since this is the perfect place and the perfect time to see the light of the blue moon tonight.
"Come on Vy! It's getting dark!" My best friend Celine urged," You know this place isn't safe at night and besides, we've been here all day already.”
“Just a moment Celine, I'm enjoying the beautiful moon tonight.”
I was busy exploring this wide park with a lot of parts of the park as it was 11:00 pm and all the park workers had long left. I felt a dark aura from the narra trees the closer I got to them. It was an odd and unsettling sense.
Cassandra…
Cassandra...
The hairs on my arms rose up under my jacket, and it wasn't due to the cold breeze of the night. Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed a set of blue eyes and a set of hazel-green eyes looking ominously at me from above in a tree. I squinted to try to make out the silhouettes, but they were gone before I knew it.
I shook the image from my head and walked back over to Celine, who was standing waiting impatiently for me beside the benches. She tugged her beanie down, concealing more of her umber brown hair too.
keep herself warm.
"Come on, let's hurry. I saw two creepy eyes watching me behind that tree. And it keeps creeping me out.”
“Okay, let's go.”
I saw it once. And I got creeped out. So this time, I agreed with Celine even though I really wanted to take a picture of the blue purple moon.
The park we were in was wide and it was a
Fifteen-minute walk to the exit; Celine and I were walking as fast as we could. Soon, condensation from my mouth partially obscured my already limited vision.
"Gosh! I got chills, the temperature falls too quickly here." I heard Celine mutter grumpily," Vy, it's your fault if I'm ill with a cold tomorrow." She jabbed me in my arm, a pout on her lips.
I chuckled. "Aww come on. You didn't have to wait on me!"
My smile dissolved as it was unfamiliar, and an unsettling feeling blanketed my body from behind. It was that same feeling from before. I swiveled my head, suddenly worried, to where the
sensation was coming from.
Behind the tree earlier. I saw does thing. They were following us from a distance, clad head to toe in black, with just their greedy gazes penetrating the darkness. However, I'm not sure what I was looking at. It's dark behind the back of the tree, so I can't see anything but those enraged eyes.
My breath hitched in my throat as I snapped my head back to the front.
"Celine. Don't look, but I think we're being followed" I muttered, only slightly turning my head to her ear so she could hear me, and so it wasn't obviously I was on to the two stalkers.
"Vy I know this is simply one of your franks and yes, you got me! But I'm not going to fall for it "She gave a deadpan.
"Cel, I'm serious. Please, please! Please hurry." I demanded, quickening my speed.
"Are you saying that if I turn around, there will be two guys following us?"
"Yes!" I exclaimed in a whisper.
She stopped and turned around. "hilarious." She rolled her eyes and gave a sarcastic laugh.
"What?" When I turned there was nothing there at all. It was just me, Celine, and the creepy dark trees. It was hallucinating, maybe? Was I really that tired? Or Maybe I ate something weird earlier? In any case, whatever was following us couldn't have been there in the first place. Things do not just vanish.
Even if they could, how would they scale a 20-foot fence? I breathed a sigh of relief when I realized they were no longer there, or had never existed. Oh my God! Don't tell me there's a monster or a ghost in this place!
"Vy?" Celine whispered in a shaky tone," are those the things you were on about?" They were around ten feet distant from us. But how? And what were they? Were they some weird mutant humans?
"Vy! Vy! We have to run!" She said this while clutching my wrist and attempting to speed by the two elements, preferring to run through the grass rather than on the path. Hopefully, we'll be able to escape them with our tag and football abilities from being the main targets in physical education.
My vision was blurred abruptly, and I found myself face down and back on the path. A searing pain ran up and down my body relentlessly as my heart attempted to pummel its way through my chest.
Celine screamed in the distance.
I managed to push myself up, realising that Celine and I were no longer together. She was still on the grass, yet I was back on the path. I barely felt a tug to be thrown so far or pulled away so quickly.
When I looked up one thing, the blue-eyed one stood between us. He was paying attention to Celine, but when he turned on me. He wasn't anything like I described. In fact, the complete opposite he was just a guy, maybe a year or two older than Celine and I. But his eyes.
Why were they like that?
It was glowing...
"If any of you move now, we'll rip your necks out. Do you get it?" He yelled angrily at both of us. His stare was menacing and unwavering. He wasn't faking anything. And I was trembling right now..
The green eye of one of the pair stood passively near to the side of me, an indiscernible expression present on his colourless face. His arm raised as.
He pointed over to Celine. "Sit by your friend. Stay there and don't utter a sound or else I will tear you two apart.” She ran over to me, cowering by my side," we have to run Vy," she whispered in a state of panic.
I think it's not a good Idea. But what should I do? Let them kill me without fighting for our life?
