~Aneria's POV~
From a good long distance, daddy and I were able to hear whispers about Ash and his lycan who turns out to be marvelous.
I haven't seen him yet but the way people were gawking at him and saying the words, 'beautiful, incredible, and never existed', made me run to the spot from where authoritative growls and submission whimpers were coming.
Mom is in authority right now. She is taming her son who just turned into a wild lycan who wants to be the one in command. Once again that hurtful thought crossed my mind and I felt a pang in my chest, I wish I was there with my brother submitting to none other than the werewolf queen.
I brushed that disturbing thought off and huffed, I hate being short! I can't see my Lycan brother!
I pushed Ian away as his height was making it difficult for me to look at Ash and as always, he screeched like a kid, "Your kitten nails, Ann!"
I sweetly smiled at him but he smirked and stood in front of me with his stupid twin, ugh! These twins and their winning smirk... I hate their stupid smirk!
I was about to freeze them when grandpa arrived while shaking his head and quickly shifting in his dark lycan, Shadow, he took me to the front where everyone was waiting for me.
I can't believe my eyes...he is my...brother?
I blinked my eyes while looking at the black average-height lycan who was covered with smoke and had a lot of red stripes on his black fur. It seems like he got red highlights. His eyes were shining, no... blazing. Blazing...red. His fearsome big red eyes are gazing at the calm yet powerful blue eyes that were grounding him in his place. His red twinkling eyes were making me think he was irritated. Irritated with mom for not letting him do his wild stuff.
Daddy moved forward with a proud smile on his face to stroke his fur but he growled at him making him stop in his tracks which made a sigh leave his mouth.
My brow quirked at his actions, excuse me? He growled at whom? He is OUR FATHER!
"Not his fault. His Lycan wants to be in authority as he knows he will be the king one day."
Grandpa said in our link while stroking my hand. He knows I'm pissed at him.
He will be the king one day but that day is not today. Dad is the king. And king or not, he can't disrespect him in front of the whole pack, he is our father.
But I chose to listen to grandpa's words and did nothing as mom was making him apologize to daddy.
When Ash's eyes started coming back to their calm blue color, daddy ordered everyone to shift into their wolf and I bit my tongue not letting that non-shifting pain hurt me.
I saw everyone above 18 shifting in their wolf and Evan and uncle Eric shifting in their grey and brown lycan and sighed, I have to wait three more years for my first wolf run.
Daddy motioned Ash to stand beside him and mom but what Ash did, stunned all of us. He made a circle with fire around them and ran away! My jaw dropped to the ground, he left mom and dad in that fire circle! What the...no brother... This is insane!
I quickly cooled down the blaze and covered my ears, mom was pissed. She was growling so heavily that all of us were having a hard time standing our ground.
Dad went to calm his pissed wife and without getting any eyes on me, I picked after Ash. But of course, one eye was watching my every move. The grey lycan... Evan.
I eyed him up and down wondering when he shifted back and put on some clothes and he simply shrugged saying that he knew something was about to happen so he was already prepared.
"You know what little one, you always surprise me with your speed," Evan said while running beside me.
I'm glad he didn't switch my emotional button on. I sniffed the air and turned to the right, "Might not be a legendary wolf, but her daughter. So will have some perks, Ev."
Yes, I am fast. Not fast as mom but even without my wolf, I am always a few steps away to catch up with daddy in his human form.
We reached the spot from where heavy smoke was coming and saw Ash bowing in submission to mom and dad. I stopped myself from huffing, the king and queen arrived in a brisk.
Ash was bowing but his eyes were still red and he was denying to shift back into his human form. I rolled my eyes, ok brother you need to cool down.
I turned his smoke into the snow and poured water on the hot-headed black and red lycan in front of me. He stood at his place dumbstruck looking like a big wet kitten making Ev and I giggle. My poor brother forgot to acknowledge my presence.
I gazed at my parents who were mirroring our expressions but immediately their beautiful smiles faded away and in a swift movement, they were in front of Ash holding him through his neck and telling him to shift back into his human form. His eyes again started to shift their color. Gosh...are all lycans this wild on their first shift or he is special?
"The one who knows is going to be in the authority one day, is like that," Grandpa said while appearing out of nowhere.
"Even I was like him," He shrugged.
My cool grandpa was like him? I don't think one can believe that easily.
"So how can we stop his madness?" Ev asked.
Grandpa's eyes moved at me and the twinkling smile I caught in his eyes, told me what I am supposed to do.
Mom and dad took a few steps away from Ash and when his fire energy started rising, I released my cool waves to calm his hot senses. My brother's and my opposite energy started blending and Ash's heavy puffy chest became normal.
I continued doing this until his human form started appearing and soon, my brother started wobbling but daddy caught him before his head could kiss the ground.
"Wow, being twins have so many perks," Ev said in amusement.
I smiled, we do. Ash and I share a different bond. Along with feeling each other pain and feelings, we can also share our powers to calm each other.
Mom hugged me, "I'm so sorry, cupcake. I couldn't be with you at that time. I'm sorry. How are you feeling?"
I forced a smile on my face, "You don't have to be sorry, mom. It isn't your fault. Yeah, I didn't feel good that time. But guess, it's for good. I'm fine."
She raised her brow in suspicion, "You know I can read minds, my little princess."
"Mom!"
She laughed at my wide eyes and kissed my head, "I'm sure moon goddess must have planned best for you."
"Best mate like daddy right?" I asked with a pout on my face while pointing at my father.
"Ohh yeah. He is the BEST!" Mom said as she started zoning out making me huff.
"Don't get started, mom!"
God, I can't read minds but her mischievous smirk was telling me what was going on inside her head and I DON'T WANT TO THINK ABOUT THAT!
She giggled and pulled me close to her, "You'll get the best for you, cupcake. Happy birthday, my snow princess."
Before I could say 'Thank you' to mom, I was lifted in the air by uncle Eric and heard a lot of hoots and wishes from my cousins.
"Happy Birthday, snowgirl!"
I laughed, I love being addressed by my powers. This birthday did not turn out how I imagined but at least I have people who care about me. And maybe, this was definitely best for me.
