~Aneria's POV~
"You never showed us what your wolf looks like," Claire grumbled while eyeing her red velvet cupcake.
My wolf? Even I don't know what my wolf looks like. Reva was drowsy all the time and didn't even bother to show up for training. Sometimes I feel like she was ignoring everything on purpose.
I felt someone staring at me and moved my head to my right; I saw dad attempting to predict where his daughter's mind is wandering.
I gave him a nice smile and concentrated on my Tex-Mex meatballs. I never told anyone what word of exchange or I should say there were no words that were getting exchanged between my wolf and me. Unlike me, they wouldn't have been sitting calmly for this long until they would've found out the reason behind her quietude.
"I don't understand why humans are unable to understand simple statements. I told you it was tiredness, nothing else. Now I'm charged up and ready to lose myself once again in this amazing forest." Reva joyfully stated.
"Wow... It has been days since your blissful voice greeted my ears. Are you sure about coming out of your doom big kitten?"
"Don't call me that!"
She growled so loudly in my head that I had to clutch my head with one hand and my stomach with another. Damn, my wild sassy kitten is back.
I was so busy laughing and stroking my head that I didn't notice all the weird glances that were coming my way.
I shrugged and pouted, "Nothing...I just pissed my wolf."
"I'm glad it's not only me who got sassy wolves," Mom giggled.
Yeah, wolves. Handling one wolf isn't easy, and being with two, gosh...mom is amazing. The way she deals with her wolves and makes them understand her view with such ease, I wish I could do the same. But seems like I'll be stuck with dealing with my wolf's sass forever like dad.
Beth's giggles reached my ears and I smiled looking at Ev who doesn't seem to take his eyes off her. It's good she is trying to open up with everyone and trying to get out of the state of loneliness and fear.
"Do you want me to change my mind?" Reva questioned.
Change what?
Hell no! I want to see what my new look is.
Motioning everyone to rush outside, I quickly moved out of the castle and reached the lake where I can easily see myself right after my shift. Cause once Reva will be in control, she will not let me have any chance of being in authority without listening to that statement which I don't want to say at any cost.
"I know I'm top of the line." She gave her weird wolfy laugh.
Sometimes I hate wolves being our halves. There is always one person or I should say an animal who is always reading our thoughts. No privacy at all.
Quickly taking a look around, I took my dress off as I didn't want to shred it into pieces. Uncle Lucas gifted me this dress before even introducing it into the market. And saying I like this dress would be an understatement, I'm in love with this dress.
Under the dim moonlight, I stood at the edge of the lake taking a glimpse of my wolf in the water. It's... it's so beautiful. My wolf... It has completely changed.
My as white as snow fur has changed into blue fur. The white fur now looks the same as Ash mentioned, it looks like an icy layer.
"She is beautiful..." Aunt Cassie's voice reached my ears.
"Wow... First white now blue. We have to be more cautious now." Archer said while gawking at me.
My ears perked at his statement, guess my blue wolf is radiating more of my energy than the white one.
I stepped in his direction but he winked and said, "I know what's going inside your evil head. By cautious I meant, we have to be cautious of others, not you. I know what you are capable of. You are the only blue wolf that has ever existed so our enemies will try to get to you."
If I was in my human form, I would have given him applause, I never thought he had a brain.
Everyone agreed with him and dad, my uncles and grandpa already started revising our pack security. God, my family is way too fast.
Dad caressed my fur with so much love and said, "You were always rare, angel. I'm proud of you."
Mom hugged my wolf, "I remember how difficult your thirteenth birthday was for you. It's worth it now."
I bobbed my head and did a victory punch in my mind, hell yes it's worth it! I wanted to be a lycan as they look different. Because of their powers and especially, their senses; they are a bit different from ours. But girl, who wants to be a lycan when I can be a blue wolf! Only blue wolf!
Dad patted my head and said, "Once this new look will be out, people will try to chase you. But don't worry daddy and mommy are going to keep you safe. Always. I love you, my snow princess."
"I love you too, daddy. No matter white or blue, snow princess is always gonna suit me." I chuckled.
Daddy, Uncle Eric, and Uncle Taylor left to work on our pack security whereas each one of us stood in the front of the castle ready for our run in the forest.
Ev was hesitant in the beginning about leaving his mate's side for the first time since she came here but agreed when the ballsy trio covered her up for him. Yeah, ballsy trio. That's what dad, uncle Eric, and uncle Taylor call their wives when they are together. And I can't agree more, this name does suit them pretty well.
Before taking off deeper into the woods, I looked at Beth and tried to mind-link her. She doesn't feel like an alpha or beta but she is a silver wolf, maybe I can mind link with her.
After trying twice, I was able to knock into our link and her face was worth seeing. It feels like she heard a ghost's voice in her head.
"How did you do that?" She startled.
"Special wolf privileges I guess...Are you sure you don't want to join? Ev won't mind holding you while running. You know he is a lycan. He runs on two."
Her face turned brick red and I couldn't stop myself from giving that weird wolfy laugh, finally, I have someone to tease around.
Reva took control and sprinted deeper into the forest. Every one of us was matching our steps with each other until Reva started picking up and leaving others behind.
I heard my brothers' voices in my head telling me to stop or lower my pace but Reva didn't give any s**t to any of their utterances.
"Reva..."
I called her twice but she didn't listen to anything. Except for the fast stomping of paws in the forest, nothing was heard.
What the heck is wrong with her?
She kept running until we reached the lake which is opposite and far away from the castle. Her high spirit died down, her legs gave up and she started roaming around the lake sniffing in the air.
"Reva? What's wrong?" I asked.
I don't smell anyone here but the way she was behaving, makes me doubt my senses.
"Nothing...our brothers' are here." She plainly said.
Soon I was covered from all four sides by Ash, Ev, Ian, and Archer and their nonstop growling started aching my ears. For God's sake, it's our pack! Reva didn't cross pack boundaries.
"Don't do that ever!" They growled.
"You did scare us for a while but girl, that was amazing. I would love to have head-to-head soon." Claire said in our link making guys growl more.
"Tomorrow?" I giggled.
"We are heading back now!"
Ash and Ev growled making us laugh harder and made sure that we both run between the four of them only.
We expected to be greeted by the people we had left behind before our run but it appears like they got too tired of waiting for us.
After shifting back into our human form, we all stepped inside the castle, and waves of anger hit us. What happened in our absence?
We all rushed to Dad's office from where all the anger was radiating and found each person's eyes pitch black except mom. Hers were blue with no pupils. The eyes that we all are scared of. Not even dad's angry eyes scare us that much.
"What happened here?"
Evan asked scooping his mate into his arms who was standing beside aunt Cassie with shivery hands.
"We know who attacked Beth's family." Uncle Eric barked.
"Who?" Evan growled with the same energy.
A moment of silence fell into the room and my eyes fell on the mom who was holding dad's hand like she was trying to control her and his anger.
I've never seen this much amount of anger and hatred in dad's eyes as he was holding right now.
He gritted his teeth and said, "Red river pack."
