CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE. Alyana was in the chocolate shop adjusting the chocolate in the jar when Oliver came from behind and pecked her. Alyana was surprised, she turned around and saw Oliver. "Hey, what are you doing? Someone might see you stealing a kiss, don't do that again." Alyana said, shoving Oliver. "What is wrong with doing this?" Oliver asked, stealing a kiss again. "Come on, we talked about this before, it is better to keep our relationship a secret for now," Alyana replied. "Alyana, why do we have to hide the beautiful love we share?" Oliver asked. "Because I am yet to tell my papa about us, he will get mad if he hears about us from someone else. He should get the news from me," Alyana explained, stroking Oliver's face. "Then it's better to tell him now, I want to let the world know how much I love you," Oliver said before kissing Alyana. Violet came to see Oliver when she saw him kissing Alyana. "So these two are an item now? Oliver chose her over me. How could he do this to me? I will make him regret leaving me for her. " She muttered to herself before stomping away angrily. Later in the day, Mr.Edmund asked his daughters out on a date. "I feel so excited right now because I am with my girls who choose to have a date with their poor dad," Henry said, taking a bite from his plate. "Stop it, Dad, you are being dramatic, we are also happy to be spending time with you," Camilla replied. "She's right dad, it's been a long time since we had dinner together like this we always get busy with work," Alyana let out. Alyana was glad her dad was making an effort to spend time with them despite his busy schedule. Mr.Edmund was asking Camilla how school was, Camilla was babbling about her school when the owner of the restaurant walked up to them. "Mr.Edmund, may I have your attention?" Chris asked. "What is it, Chris? Is something wrong?" Mr. Edmund asked. "Mrs. Johnson and her son-in-law are here and they would love to have dinner here, is that okay with you sir?" Chris asked. "It is okay Chris, we might be business opponents but not enemies." Mr. Edmund answered. "Is something wrong Dad?" Camilla asked. "Chris just gave me a word now that our biggest rival in the business is here in the restaurant." Mr. Edmund said. "Is that so, that's not a problem dad, they are just here to have dinner also," Camilla let out. "Yes Camilla, I don't mind bumping into them after all we are not enemies but business rivals." Mr. Edmund explained. Mrs. Johnson and her son-in-law entered and greeted Henry before moving to their table. "Are they the one?" Camilla asked, whispering. "Camilla quit asking questions and eating your food," Alyana said. "Fine," Camilla replied grumbling. "So Alyana, is there something new going on with you?" Mr. Edmund asked. "Nothing new papa, the chocolate shop is doing fine and sales are high," Alyana explained. "That's good to hear dear, make sure to tell me if something is wrong or you need something," Mr. Edmund let out, making Alyana nod. After the dinner, Mr. Edmund paid before walking his daughter to their car. "Dad, why don't you just come with us?" Camilla asked. "Camilla, I have to go back to the office to get something. I will be back home before you know it." Mr. Edmund said locking the door. "Camilla, just let papa go, papa gets going before it gets late, bye," Alyana said. "Take care girls," Mr. Edmund said before entering his car. Oliver went to the Hr office to check something out when he ran into Violet. "So you chose Alyana over me, Oliver, what does she have that I don't?" Alyana asked. "Let's stop this nonsense Violet, I have better things to do," Oliver said walking out but without Violet or Oliver's knowledge, Mr. Edmund saw both of them talking. Violet turned to leave when she saw Mr. Edmund looking at her. "Hi daddy," she greeted walking towards him. "What was that?" Mr. Edmund asked. "What was what?" Violet asked sputtering. "What was Oliver telling you?" Mr. Edmund asked. "Oh, that was Nothing important," Violet replied. "It looked like both of you were arguing, is there something between you and Oliver?" Mr. Edmund asked. "No, no daddy, I was just discussing with him our promotion plan but he's so shy. I was trying to convince him but he got angry and walked off, I don't know what to do anymore. He's such a headache." She muttered. Mr. Edmund didn't buy Violet's excuse but he didn't want to ask more questions so it didn't look like he was suspicious of her so he walked off without saying a single word. Mr. Edmund got home and freshened up before moving to where Lucille was standing. Lucille was watching Alyana who was lost in thought, smiling at herself. Lucille had noticed that Alyana was smiling more lately like someone in love. She was so focused on Alyana that she didn't notice her husband was behind her. "Hey, hon," Henry greeted Lucille. "Hi, honey, when did you get back?" Lucille asked, turning her attention back to Alyana. "Not long ago hon, what are you so focused on?" Henry asked. "Haven't you noticed Alyana lately, doesn't something seem different about her?" Lucille asked. "Alyana? Nothing seems different, love, or do you see something?" Henry asked. "There is some certain sparkle in her eyes these days, she has this dreamy look and is always deep in thought," Lucille explained. "So what do you mean?" Henry asked, looking at Lucille. "Henry, don't you see it, your daughter is in love," Lucille said. "I don't think Alyana would do that, she would have told me," Henry said. "I won't force you to believe me, Henry," Lucille let out. Henry couldn't stop thinking about what Lucille said, what if she was right. He trusts Alyana so much and was scared she would make a rash decision that will hurt her and the family. "I hope we are wrong Alyana, I don't want to see you get hurt, dear," Henry muttered before leaving to his room.
