Chapter 11
They did not stay in Cadoni. Even though the town was of reasonable size and the unknown enemy couldn’t attack them as openly without attracting attention, Cahil and Brigida knew all too well how many ways there were to kill people in the heart of a town. The enemy would certainly come looking for them here; it would be wise to get as far away as possible.
The fugitives drove straight through Cadoni without stopping, following the road to the next major town, Annis-tago. They were hampered by the fact that Richard, the only one in their group who spoke Illnik, was unconscious and unable to translate for them. They knew basically what the Dur-ill they encountered were trying to tell them, but conveying their own message was much more difficult.
