-Aurora POV-
All I have been thinking about is him and the way he looked at me, at my naked body. His gaze just pins me and I feel like I would let him do whatever he wants with me.
"Can you please stop!" Ezekiel shouts at Wolf, who is sitting on the passenger seat while Ezekiel drives.
"I don't like country music! I didn't know they had this kind of station out here but it should be banned!" Wolf says.
Ezekiel turns to him looking like he is beyond irritated. "You don't like country music, you don't like pop, you don't like R&B, soul, Jazz, instrumental! What the f**k do you like- wait! Don't tell me... Rock."
"Yes." Wolf says looking like a wounded animal.
While all this is going on, I am uncontrollably giggling in the back seat.
I lean forward now confused. "Hey... what do you mean rock?"
I really am imagining people making music with rocks right now.
Wolf gives me a big grin. "Let me show you the ways of great music."
The only times I see him this happy are when he eats and when he comes back from a run.
Ezekiel sighs. "Not too loud at least."
Wolf messes with what they've been calling a radio.
"Oh! This is a good one." He says.
Suddenly, something amazing comes from the radio.
I instinctively lean in between them. "What is this?"
"This is Guns and Roses, baby! Sweet Child Of Mine" Wolf says excitedly. “This is the good old stuff but timeless.”
Ezekiel nods. "This I enjoy. It's the metal that gives me a headache."
Wolf starts bobbing his head and I find myself doing the same.
(I really like this kind of music.)
We continue driving but then the car swirls and we almost hit a tree.
"What the f**k! Wolf shouts rubbing his head where he just hit the window with.
Ezekiel looks frantic through the rearview mirror.
"Did I kill it?! Where is it?!" He almost shouts.
"Kill what?" Wolf asks.
"The bunny. I almost ran it over!" Ezekiel says still looking through the mirror.
"You were going to kill us for a bunny?!" Wolf shouts.
"Yea I was going to kill us for the bunny!" Ezekiel looks agitated but doesn't denie it.
"What?" Wolf squints his eyes at him.
Ezekiel takes a deep breath. "Nothing. Forget it." He says.
I am glad he didn't run over the bunny but I am confused and so is Wolf who stares at Ezekiel as if he had three heads. Wolf shakes his head and goes back to stare out of the window.
"The weirdest f*****g vampire I have ever met." Wolf mumbles.
We all calm down and after a few hours of driving, we stop at something called a diner where they serve food.
"Alright, so you haven't had a burger yet. You are getting one now." Wolf says and starts to order.
I smile. (He seems calmer. Like he is warming up to me.)
He then looks at Ezekiel. "You aren't going to be a party pooper and say that's too unhealthy?"
Ezekiel shakes his head. "If I could, I'd try it myself."
"You can't eat any kind of food?" I ask.
"No. I get sick and even if I did eat it, it doesn't taste good to me.” He points to his mouth. “Pallet of the dead.”
I feel kind of bad when he says that but also it kind of bothers me when he refers to himself as dead. When I think of death, I think of cold and evil for some reason but he, to me he is the opposite. He is the brightest person I have met. Always warm and gentle and he makes me feel alive.
I don’t want him to say that again. I don’t like it one bit.
I nod. "But aren't you hungry now?" I ask him moving my thoughts to the side.
"Yes, but I have a cooler with blood bags in the back of the car. Wolf is going to drive next so I'll get a drink then."
Living for so long and not being able to indulge in some of the simplest pleasures in life. That’s kind of cruel.
"So, can I ask how did you two meet?" I ask as we wait for the food.
Wolf groans.
"Wolf was seventeen when he arrived at the academy," Ezekiel says. "The academy had just opened and he was one of the first few there. That was roughly twelve years now."
"Are you a professor in this academy?" I ask Ezekiel.
"No. I'm more like a benefactor though most students do call me headmaster. My friend Marco and I opened this academy after things seem to settle with the vampires but then things with the Hunters started stirring. You see, about twelve years ago, there was a plague that was going around the cities and an old vampire was the cause of it.”
His eyes look like they reminisce.
“After he was defeated by the werewolf packs, hunters started to take notice of all our kind again. They had been quiet for almost a century now since none of us were causing any trouble. We felt that it would be best to have a school for those like us to feel safe and also so they wouldn't have to hide who they are." Ezekiel finishes.
Wolf nods agreeing. "In normal schools and colleges, you make friends and a lot of them are humans. It's really hard to keep a secret like being a werewolf from them."
"You... a lone wolf... had friends?" Ezekiel says with a smirk.
Wolf narrows his eyes at Ezekiel. "Not me but you know... the general public... dick." He whispers the last part and I giggle.
The server brings our food and we start eating. It is delicious. Food in this time tastes so much better.
As I eat, I think about what they were talking about. About Wolf not having many friends.
I look at Wolf. "You know... you are nice although you try always to be mean."
Ezekiel starts laughing.
"Me? Nice? What have you been smoking?" Wolf asks now looking irritated.
"That's cause he is a poser." Ezekiel says.
"Shut up! Tyr says he is going to bite your ass next time!”
Ezekiel laughs.
I smile watching them but I am confused. I move my empty plate to the side, still smiling.
"What are you smiling about?!" Wolf asks, acting tough and narrowing his eyes at me.
"You two and also... this world is really different now and I like it. It seems more... free. I just wish my sisters could have seen it."
Wolf looks away and Ezekiel smiles.
"Just know that you're not alone, Aurora." Ezekiel says.
"We found you so now we are stuck taking care of you." Wolf mumbles. "And I always do my job."
Ezekiel rolls his eyes. "What the dog means is that you have us now. You don't have to feel alone, we won't leave you to fend for yourself."
I cannot help smile at him. I think it is the biggest smile I have had since I woke up.
Since I have been with them, I have not felt alone. Not even once though the thought lingers in the back of my head but I try to ignore it. Who knew that vampires and werewolves could be this nice.
My eyes then spot what the server is bringing to us and my eyes shine.
"What is that?"
She puts on our table three glasses with a white foamy substance inside and a cherry on top.
"It is called a milkshake darling and I guarantee that you'll love it." Ezekiel says.
I look at the milkshake while they start to bicker again.
"Why are you always calling her darling or princess." Wolf asks looking annoyed.
"Because she is a darling and a princess. Why? You getting jealous?"
"No! But it's like you... got dibs on her or something." Wolf says.
Ezekiel narrows his eyes on Wolf. "Mother fucker. You are jealous."
I am not paying any attention to them because right now, I feel like I died and am in heaven. The sweetness on this milkshake is something I have never tasted before and it is amazing. I am afraid that after this, I won't want to drink anything else other than this ever again. I now wonder what other amazing things there are to experience in this new world.
"No!" Wolf shouts over something Ezekiel said.
I now notice the guys are arguing, looking irritated but not really angry.
"What in the world?" I mumble.
(They look like children.)
"And what if I did get dibs... in fact, I do. I do get dibs on her." Ezekiel says.
(What is dibs?)
I continue to drink my milkshake through what I know now is a straw, watching them.
"You can't! That's not how it works." Wolf says.
"And how does it work? Because as far as I know, you wolves do exactly that, right?"
"No."
"Yes, you do. You imprint on whoever your wolf wants. You can't tell me that that is not dibs.
"No, it's not." Wolf says.
"That's the same thing and anyway, I don't care. When I want something, I get it.” Ezekiel says but then mumbles. “And if you piss me off too much, I’ll give you some chocolate... see how that works with you. "
“Chocolate?” Wolf narrows his eyes at Ezekiel.
I also look at Ezekiel confused.
“Yea.” Ezekiel says. “It makes dogs sick.”
Wolf stares at Ezekiel with a solemn expression. He opens his mouth to say something but closes it and then, opens it again. "Tyr and I really hate you."
Ezekiel rolls his eyes and they both finally look at me.
I lift an eyebrow as I drink my delicious milkshake without really knowing what to say since I have no idea what they were arguing about.
They both clear their throats.
"Who is Tyr?" I ask.
"Oh... my wolf." Wolf says.
I stare at him. "What do you mean?"
"He has an alter ego that talks to him." Ezekiel says and then leans in and whispers. "He's crazy."
Wolf's jaw tightens and stares at Ezekiel. "Tyr is going to eat you next time he comes out."
Ezekiel smirks. "He can try."
Wolf growls at him but ignores him and looks at me. "Tyr is my spirit wolf and he is real."
"Oh!”
(I remember this!)
“Like the natives in my time.” I say. “They believed in spirit wolves and believed that a man could shapeshift into the spirit form. Of course, we all took it as just stories but I guess... they were real."
Wolf nods.
I then notice something on his arm.
"What is that?"
(I feel like a child, getting distracted with everything new I see.)
Wolf looks at me and then at his arm. "Oh, this is a tattoo."
"Really? I've heard of them but in my time, only the natives used to have them. I had never really seen one. Is it a common thing now?"
"Oh yes, in fact, it is a cool thing now." He says and slides his sleeve up to give me a better look.
"Oh wow! It's almost like art."
He has two swords in an x shape with a skull in the middle and it has red gems for eyes.
Wolf smiles and nods looking proud while Ezekiel rolls his eyes and pouts.
"We should go. Let's not waste time." Ezekiel says.
“Now who is the jealous one?” Wolf asks looking smug.
“Why would I be jealous. I have tattoos too. I just don’t go around taking my clothes off to show them.” Ezekiel says.
“I want to see your tattoos.” I say.
He smirks. “Then you will. But it will have to be in the private where I can take my clothes off.”
“Clothes off... why?”
“Cause he’s a pervert.” Wolf says sipping on his drink narrowing his eyes at Ezekiel.
“Mutt!” Ezekiel shouts at him.
“Bloodsucker!” Wolf shouts back.
“How is that an insult?!” Ezekiel shouts.
“I don’t know!” Wolf says. “... stupid bloodsucker!”
I sigh and decide to just pay attention to what is left of my drink.
After their bickering stops, they call Theo to check up on her. We then clean up and start to go back to the car.
"How are you feeling right now?" Ezekiel asks me.
"I am well right now."
"Good. Remember, the moment you feel any pain, let me know."
I nod and smile.
I get in the car but Ezekiel goes to the back of the car and takes something out. He comes back around and sits in the front while Wolf drives.
I look at what he has in his hands and it is a blood bag. He opens the end of a tube that is attached to it and starts drinking.
I thought that it would disturb me to see him drink blood but honestly, it does not. Maybe it is because it is not coming directly from a human being. I'm sure that would disturb and horrify me even though the thought of him drinking from me excites and turns me on.
Wolf starts to drive. Throughout the ride, Ezekiel keeps looking back at me through the mirror on his side. It doesn't bother me but it makes me blush every time. He smiles every time, noticing. I am sure this man knows what he is doing to me and most likely he is doing it on purpose.
After a few more hours, dusk starts to set upon us and we finally arrive at our destination.
"Is that where we are going?" I ask looking at what looks like an estate.
A huge white mansion stands on a big green field. Metal gates are surrounding the place and there are what looks like guards dressed in black everywhere.
"Park in the bushes." Ezekiel says.
Wolf does what Ezekiel tells him and then we get out. I follow them to the woods on the edge of the barred gates until we are in an area where we are hidden but we can see the house in the distance.
"So... what's the plan?" Wolf asks.
Ezekiel looks at him. "I have no idea."
"What?"
Ezekiel shakes his head. "Theo is the one who always came up with the plan."
I look at them with my eyes wide. "Are we going to get caught?"
"No." They both say in unison.
"So then... do we storm the place?" Wolf asks.
"I don't see any other way." Ezekiel says.
“Just the three of us?” I say.
“Yes.” They both say together again.
They answer me as if I was stating something obvious but I feel like they are not seeing the severity of the situation here.
I am startled when we hear a girl's voice behind us.
"Uh! You two are idiots."
We turn around and see a beautiful girl that appears to be in her twenties, with long brown hair and green eyes. She stands there watching us. She has tight denim pants, black boots that go to her ankles, and a white button-up pretty blue blouse.
Wolf quickly growls at her and surprisingly, she growls back just like Wolf did.
"Abigail!" Ezekiel almost shouts.
