First Day

Taylor POV

I awoke to find the room empty; I looked over at the clock and it read 10:30 so I jumped up and got ready to leave. As I was looking around for my panties, I came across a note that Alexander had left me this morning

“Dear sleepyhead, take all the time you need, no need to rush into work I can take care of things until you arrive. Chris is downstairs waiting for you whenever you are ready. Alex”

Aww that is sweet I thought to myself as I stuffed the note in my purse and rushed out the door. I was grabbing the door handle when someone called my name.

“Hi, I’m Grace Alexander’s maid, he told me to make sure you get this”

“Thank you, I’m Taylor nice to meet you Grace” I said as I took the bag from her and exited

I found Chris outside waiting just like the note said.

“Hey Chris” I said as I got in the car

“Hi Taylor” he said as he closed the door

“Home please” I said as I looked at my phone to see three missed calls from Jeremy, one from my mom and one from Casey.

Casey was worried about me since I never spent the night away from the apartment. I sent her a text to let her know I was okay, and I also sent Jeremy a text to let him know I was okay and that I will call him after work.

I made it home 20 minutes later I threw my things on my bed and went to take a quick shower. I dressed in black slacks, a white silk blouse with white pumps. I put my hair in a tight bun and threw on light makeup and headed out the door to go to work.

I arrived at noon and was so embarrassed as I walked the walk of shame to the office. Alexander must have been busy because his windows were blacked out, so I sat at my desk and turned my computer on. Luckily, he had things for me to do already on my desk, I had to make some copies for a meeting he had later and input a list of things into his calendar. I decided to make the copies first, so I had those already ready.

As I was making the copies two females came into the copy room and just stared at me. I tried hard to ignore them, but it was quite impossible.

“Well, well, well, I see we have a new assistant” one of them said

“Don’t worry she won’t be here long, once they get attached, he lets them go” the other one said

I did not once look their way or respond as they walked out laughing. Was that true, did he let the women go if they got attached to him. I started to wonder would it be the same for me, I did not know how the werewolf love life was like. I would do some research to find out more information about them.

I returned to my desk and Alexander’s office was not blacked out anymore and he was standing up looking out the window. I sat the copies on the end of my desk and got to work on his calendar as my mind drifted off to last night and this morning’s events. I had just finished with his calendar when he called me into his office. He seemed on edge, and I could not really figure out what was wrong with him. I wanted to ask but thought against it, I did not want to ask any personal questions or have these females think they were right. I entered his office and sat down with a pen and notepad ready to write down whatever he needed me to do.

“Hey, what’s up”

“Are you okay” he said as he returned to his seat

“Yes, I am okay sorry about being late I didn’t know I dozed off again” I said in a low voice

“That’s fine I’m not worried about that” he said as he just stared ahead

“Okay, I made the copies you needed for the meeting that you have in an hour, and I also finished your calendar as well. I saw that you do not have anything listed for next month and from the previous months your calendar is full”

“Remember what I mentioned to you last night”

I looked behind me to make sure no one could hear inside his office before speaking

“I do”

“I only have a couple of weeks to get all of my affairs in order and to make sure my company is set up for success before leaving”

“Okay, who is set to take your place when you do take your leave”

“I have a CFO and a COO, and they are they ones that will take over and run my company while I am away. They both have been here since I started my company and they know the ends and outs of everything, and how I run things here. Now there is an all staff meeting a week from today and I want you to send an email to everyone letting them know of this meeting. Also let them know that it is mandatory and anyone that does not show up do not bother coming back.”

“Awesome, I can do that. What about my job will I still have my position.”

“I was serious when I said I wanted you to come with me. If you need time to get your affairs in order let me know and we can arrange that”

“Oh” I said as I looked around

“Don’t tell me that you are having a change of heart”

I remained silent as I looked at him and then looked back and saw the same two women who was in the copy room gawking at us. I turned my attention back to him and just sighed not sure if I should tell him the details. Not waiting for a response Alexander got up from his chair and closed his office door then came back and sat down and pushed a button and I saw his windows freeze up so nobody could see inside.

“What’s going on, I’m not leaving you here, so I hope that’s not in your mind”

“I don’t know about this Alex”

“Don’t know about what”

“If we should do this or not”

“Do what, did you not hear anything I said to you last night. You are my mate, and I cannot and will not let you go. I already did that once and I am not about to do it again. Me and my pack will protect you no matter what. Do you understand me.”

“I do, it’s just that this life is new to me, and I need to take some time to understand it more and do some research.”

“I understand that, but something is wrong I can tell just by looking at you”

“Well……. When I was making copies two women came into the copy room and said somethings that I do not know how to feel about”

“Okay, what was said and who are these women”

“I do not want to rat anyone out, so I will just let you know what was said. They mentioned how you let your assistants go once they get attached to you.”

“Baby all these people in here are human, they do not know anything about me only what they see, and I dish out. None of them know what my life is like and how me and my kind must live or what we go through. They would all be terrified if they knew their boss turned into this creature that could snap their necks in a blink of an eye. Do not listen to a word any of them say especially females because they all at one point tried me.”

“Okay, I’ll do my homework, but in the meantime is there anything else you would like me to do”

“I would love for you to come and spread your legs for me. I could smell you out there when you were working on your computer” he said smirking

I was so embarrassed all I could do was blush and try to hide to my face.

‘I have to get to work”

“Yea you could come and let me work on you” he said still not giving up

“Alex, I not comfortable with this yet”

“Baby well get there because once we leave and make it to my pack, I will not be able to keep my hands and other body parts to myself.”

“Okay, okay, let me go get this done”

I left his office to get to work on the email that he wanted me to send out to everyone, before I sent it I had him read it over and add anything if he wanted. After that I did nothing but research on werewolves, mates, mate bond, packs and more. I was so overwhelmed I could not read anymore and had to take a break and get away for a minute.

“Hey Alex, it has been a long day can I cut out early” I asked as I knocked on his door

“Baby you do not have to ask me to come in late or leave, once we get everything figured out this will be yours too.”

“Okay, I’ll see you tomorrow”

“Will do, let me know if you will not be up and ready in the morning, please” he yelled out as I packed my things to leave

Chris took me home after I left the office, I was beat and needed a shower and time to process everything. I put all my things on my bed and went and took a nice long hot shower, I did not notice how long I was in there until the water ran cold. I got out and went to put on my nightclothes as I was about to get in bed my stomach growled out letting me know I did not eat anything even when Alex begged me to eat.

I remembered Grace giving me a bag before I left Alex house earlier and I had not looked in it. I grabbed the bag from the fridge to look at the contents inside. There was a deconstructed salad, with the works, a sandwich, some chips, and a coke. I was so glad it was easy stuff and nothing I had to warm up. As I dug into my food there was a knock at my door. I answered it and to my surprise it was Jeremy.

“Hey, sorry I haven’t returned your texts or calls, today was a busy day” I said as I returned to my food

“That is okay, I was just checking on you to make sure you were okay. So, your first day at Montgomery Technologies was that busy. I did not know he made you work so hard” he said as he grabbed a chip

“There wasn’t anything hard I had to do I was just busy doing research”

“Really on what”

“Werewolves”

“Really, why”

“Remember when I told you that he said something about rejection after the interview was over”

“Yea, why”

“Well don’t freak out or anything but Alex is a werewolf”

“Did he tell you that”

“He did and he also showed me as well”

“Really” he said as he looked deep in thought

“Yea, are you okay”

“Yea, I’m fine”

“Wow you are taking this better than me. I did not believe a word he said until he showed me”

“Yea, um sorry Taylor I have to go I promise to call you tomorrow” he said as he gave me a quick hug and left.

I wondered what that was about, and I planned to ask him once he called me. I finished my food and hit my bed deep in thought until I dozed off.

Jeremy POV

Wow, I did not know Alex was a wolf and to be mated to Taylor a human was unheard of. I did not know there were other wolves here until I met Carmen about four years back when she contacted me to help her with her website. Since then, we became exceptionally good friends and allies, and I knew she was dating someone powerful she said that he was a wolf and an alpha at that. I started to put two and two together and decided to phone Carmen to see if it were true, but I received no answer.
