The sun streaming through the window pulled me from sleep the next morning. I reached for her, coming suddenly awake as her side of the bed was empty. “Over here, on the balcony,” she linked me. My eyes found her instantly and I relaxed. She was standing on the balcony, the doors opened wide to let in the fresh morning breeze, studying me with an inscrutable look. I couldn’t help but grin at her. Her hair was blowing slightly in the breeze and she had on a short nightgown, the thin straps showing off my mark on her shoulder. “Good morning, love,” I linked her. Her lips twitched in amusement, but it was the only sign that she had heard me.
