chapter 12 welcome to my home

1906 Words
Edited. Alpha Ace’s P.O.V It had been two weeks since I told Cheyenne that I would help build the deck and gazebo, which didn’t go down too well with the other contractors, but it was finally done. The lights were strung up around the poles and the marble tables were set around the deck with the chairs. The gazebo was at the end of the deck where Cheyenne wanted it and the lights were strung around that too, making it seem almost magical. Cheyenne and I had spent more and more time together and were practically joined at the hip now, much to my wolf's delight. I have helped her in the office several times and even closed the restaurant a few times for her, which she was grateful for, but also told me not to even think about taking over, which made me laugh and I promised that I wouldn’t. She had been so welcoming and I felt like I knew everything about her, but I was still holding back on telling her that I was a werewolf and that she was my mate, not to mention that I was the Alpha of my pack and she would be my Luna, running the pack with me. I don’t think it would go down too well if I just blurted everything out all at once and I wanted to take things slow with her, even though my wolf was begging me to mark her every second of every day. My first move would be to invite her to my pack, but I would need to make an announcement, telling everyone not to shift, not to train and to act as normal or rather as human as possible around her. “Everyone, listen up, I have found my mate and your Luna, but she is a human and knows nothing of the supernatural. I am going to bring her onto the territory, but in order to do so I need everyone to follow the rules, no shifting, no training, patrols will be carried on as normal but they will be out of sight. Everyone needs to act normal and this should go well.” I said, mind-linking everyone in the pack. Suddenly I felt a rush of happiness, cheers and applause through the mind-link as pack members congratulated me and were happy that I had found my mate and Luna. I hurried to close the link before it gave me a headache and then I hurried into the restaurant to ask her before I lost my nerve. “Cheyenne, I was thinking, would you like to come to my home today? It’s your day off and I know that we are here, but I want you to meet some people. I will warn you that I do have a lot of family that live on my land, so please don’t be shocked when you see them.” I asked, hoping that she would say yes. “Yeah, sure.” Cheyenne replied, shrugging. I smiled as we left the restaurant and got into my red pick-up truck, then left and headed to my pack. It only took thirty minutes to get there and when we got to the gates my guards were smiling brightly, trying to see my mate. “Seriously, try not to be so obvious, I know that you’re excited to see your Luna, but keep cool.” I said, mind-linking them and laughing through the link. They both nodded and faced forward, but I could still see the smiles on their faces, which only made me chuckle and shake my head as we drove through the gates. Cheyenne’s P.O.V Ace and I were at the restaurant, looking over the new dock and gazebo that was now finally finished and it looked beautiful. Ace’s guys really did an amazing job and even helped stringing the lights up and placing the tables and chairs where I wanted them to be. I was so proud and grateful of the job they had done, but none of them would accept any money for it and that annoyed me. f**k it, if they won’t accept cash then I’ll pay them back with free meals and gifts, that’ll show them and they won’t be able to say no either. I was in the restaurant going over the new seating sections when Ace came in and asked me to go to his home. I didn’t see a problem with it and I was curious to see what he was like at home, so I agreed. I mean sure, why not, I thought as we got into his pick up and drove off. We drove for about thirty minutes before stopping at two huge gates that had two huge ass men standing either side of them and they looked to be guards or something. Was his house really that big that it needed guards? I noticed that the men were smiling brightly at me, so I smiled back, but just as we drove through the gates I felt like I was having a sense of deja vu. I wasn’t sure if it was real or not and it kinda confused me, but then I got the image of a bunch of trees around a huge white mansion and there were kids around it, playing and doing other things, but just as the image appeared it was gone. I was a little shaken by what I had just seen and didn’t understand it, but I quickly recovered and straightened myself up. We finally made it to the house and damn it was so incredible. It was a beautiful tanned or light brown building, but a lot bigger and wider than a mansion. I got out of the car, looking around at everything and saw that there were houses and cabins in the back, which stunned me a little. He wasn’t lying about having a huge family. Ace took my hand and I could have sworn I felt shivers go up and down my arm at the contact. I wanted to feel more of it, so I decided to hold his hand a little tighter as we walked up the front steps and into the house. The Moon Goddesses P.O.V This wasn’t supposed to be happening, not yet, she wasn’t supposed to be having flashbacks because it was too soon for that. First the dream and now the flashback to her old house, if this keeps happening then she will start to remember her past. There must have been something I missed, something I forgot to change when I sent her back and I knew that I would have to think fast. I wanted her to have a second chance because Mercury was having his, but I did everything right. I cleaned her mind of everything that was related to Mercury and her family. I think that I must have done wrong by sending her back to the same town that Mercury was living in, that she had once called home. This was a mistake on my part and her flashbacks were going to continue to happen, but maybe I could slow them down to give her a chance. I need to get her blocked off and get into her mind. I watched as they walked into Ace’s pack house and pushed the thought into her head that she needed the bathroom, so that I could get her alone. I waited until she walked into the bathroom and closed the door behind her, this was it, this was my chance. I had her sit down and then I zoned her out, going inside her brain and washing all her memories and the flashbacks away, but the more I tried to clear the flashbacks out the harder it got. I knew what was happening and I had no power to stop it. The Moon Goddess that was above us all, that was higher, bigger and better than us all knew that I was doing this and she was blocking me. I knew that I should have never done this, but I wanted to give her a second chance. “I am so very sorry, Cheyenne, but in three years you’re going to start remembering everything. This is my own fault, I should have kept you up there with me and let Mercury and Holly be together, but….” I started to say, but I suddenly heard a ringing in my ears and knew that I was being summoned. Cheyenne wouldn’t remember anything of this, but I hope that they don’t reverse my decision because if they do it could have deadly consequences. Cheyenne’s P.O.V I needed to use the bathroom, but as soon as I closed the door behind me I zoned out. It had only been for a few seconds, but when I came back I had a headache and was sitting down on a chair next to the bath. It was so f*****g weird. Where the hell did that come from? I thought to myself, sighing. After I used the bathroom I washed my hands and then went back out to Ace, who took my hand and I can’t explain it, but the pounding headache I had before instantly went away. Wow, that was strange, I thought as he led me into the living room. Some kids were in there playing video games and when we walked in they all looked at me, smiling and then turned back to continue with their games. I couldn’t believe how lucky these kids were as they had a huge flat screen TV to play these games on and a huge couch to relax on whilst they did so. I looked around the room and saw that there were more than one game systems set up, there was also a nintendo, a playstation with Wii. Nice, I thought, making a mental note to play on the Wii console if or when I came back here. Ace led me into another room that he said was the family room and this one was just as huge with three couches and a huge chair. “That’s where I normally sit.” Ace siad, pointing to the chair and I could now see that it would fit two people on it. There was a nice black marble coffee table in the middle with a beautiful fireplace. He carried on showing me around and I was shocked to see that there was even a theatre and game room here. He showed me his office and then we went up the stairs, which didn’t seem that much until we turned the corner at the top and I saw there were more. Where the hell was this man taking me? I thought as we climbed what felt like the tenth flight of stairs before we came to a stop in a long hallway. “This is where the head of the house stays and that is me. Come on, I’ll show you and don’t worry, I promise I won’t try locking you in there and keeping you as all mine.” Ace said, smirking as I playfully rolled my eyes. “Uh huh, sureeee.” I replied and we both started laughing. We headed to his room and when he opened the door, letting me inside first, my jaw hit the ground in shock. Damn, you could fit a small house in this room.
