It's been One month, a week and 4 days since Alex abandoned me on our wedding day. I moved to New York the next week with the little money I made from work and then the money the alluring stranger left for me that night.

Do I think about Alex? every day, every minute.

Do I want him to come back to me and apologize? yes I do.

But will I reach out to him first? no never.

Usually I was always the one coming back, begging him to forgive me after he cheated and I got mad.

Or after he would hit me and say that I was the one provoking him into anger.

I would apologize for everything he did wrong. I guess I was just attracted to toxic, but not anymore.

Today was my first day at work at my new office.

When I went back to my old work at Los Angeles to drop my resignation letter, everyone at work was looking at me with pity. It was sad to hear that my fiance has been cheating on me with my best friend.

They just kept on with the pity looks and stares and I'm grateful for not going back there because I would not have survived staying there anymore.

My boss tipped me off real good before I left because she knew I was very good at my job and she promised she'd give me a good recommendation and help me get a job one a company here in New York which she did.

All I did was an interview and the next day I was called to resume work the next week.

I was to be the person assistant to this billionaire that owned a Car company; Greenwood Mobile. I've heard a lot about them, they specify mainly in race cars and some customized cars and all, only millionaire could afford their vehicles.

The pay was huge I couldn't even lie, i was genuinely grateful to my old boss for this.

"Hi, I'm Miriam", a talk blonde cheerful middle aged woman said walking up to me, she was the secretary and she was the one who did the interview the other day.

"Hi", I said nervously.

"Welcome to the Greenwood's mobile, we're extremely happy to have you aboard", she said and handed me a tablet.

"Let's go straight to the point because The Boss is already in his office and he'd like to see you soon.

So you have 2 days off a month, you work Monday to Fridays weekdays and Saturday and Sundays are if the boss needs you, that'll be additional pay to your regular salary. Mr Greenwood is a very busy man, he's a little cranky sometimes, just follow his instructions and you two will get along pretty well... hopefully", she said.

"Uhm, so I don't have any spare time?", I asked.

"Apparently", she said.

Good, perfect, just what I need to get my mind off Alex

"Alright", I said nodded and looking at the instructions.

"Also you'll have a wardrobe maintenance cheque after every three months because the boss loves everyone dressing top notch and you're his PA, you'd be moving with him from meetings to meetings, so I think your wardrobe maintenance cheque will be given after every two months. We have a specific dress color we use here after every three months, we recently changed it last month after boss got back from his travel", she said.

"Okay, what's the color?", I asked.

"Maroon, he suddenly likes it ", she said.

It reminded me of the maroon dress Tasha got me.

"I can work with that ", I stated.

"Great, so you can pick up your cheque from the accountants office before you leave for the day but first you need to meet the boss ", she said.

"Okay ", I said standing up nervously.

"I'll give you a tour round the office later", sure said as we approached the office.

"Small head start, he's not really friendly, just... be in your best behavior", she said and knocked on the door.

I nodded.

"Who?", I heard a voice say

"It's Miriam sir, I'm here with your new assistant", she said.

He didn't say anything and so we talked in

My heart skipped a beat.

He lifted up his Hazel eyes and then looked at me, we locked eyes for a few seconds and I left my heart beat so loud he could hear it.

Noo, this cannot be happening, I'm so done for!
