The sun was about to come out and yet, Lexi was still alone, she's been walking around for few past hour but none of her friends show themselves, she's been dealing with monster all by herself easily while worrying for the others. Sakura told her that every teenagers has their own skills to protect themselves, but none of it mentioned about Jisu, her friend who's still unconscious before she went missing this afternoon. But on the other hand, she saw how Chantelle was too serious to protect her friend, which gives her a less concern for the record. While she's sprinting her way down— without having any idea that she's been going around repeatedly for a while now— she kept encountering monsters in different sizes, but nevertheless, she can kill a them using one sword only, it's as if, it was really made to exterminate all monsters inside the mansion. Things become clearer for her and Iris was right with her suspicion. Lexi knew the mansion, even the secret rooms and passages, she knew where to hide and she knew how to kill monsters, because she's been in the place, with Trevor. A long time ago, they are both living in the mansion along with other orphans, until one peaceful afternoon, there's a man arrived to the place and talked to the priest. Trevor and Lexi was hiding under the table as they were playing with the priest's computer until the door opens and they had to hide quickly to not get caught. And there they heard everything about the monster they want to hide inside the secret room and it's built inside the priest's bedroom—the same secret room she got the sword and killed the prisoned monster for more than a decade—. Later that night, the tremendous amount of fear cover the whole mansion, all kids are screaming and crying, they are all locked inside the basement except Lexi and Trevor, the priest saw them and told them firmly to not go out whatever happens. But Trevor didn't listened. He decided to escape, tugging Lexi with him, and that's when the most unforgettable scary memories started. They led everyone die because of their will to escape and save themselves selfishly. The monsters found their way to the basement and kill every kids inside of it and it became their hiding place as the years passes by while they keep looking for their queen, who's locked inside the secret room, but unfortunately. Lexi met the queen of the monsters and she killed her. Now, all the spawns of the queen are mad and frustrated, they are trying to find the one who did the horrible things to their queen. Lexi wasn't really scared, she's more of giddy and excited to meet everyone who killed innocent children before, she wants to kill every monster so she could get the peaceful she wanted a long time ago because the guilt of their actions before that led everyone die, kept taunting her and eating her gradually. Over the past ten years, she tried to forget about that horrific incident, but still couldn't do it. It's hard, since she's been carrying a heavy guilt inside of her and now is the time she's been waiting for. The time where she could make up for their mistake, though the children who had died wouldn't get back to life, at least she could take the revenge for them. Lexi was lost but she follows her guts and instincts and she finds herself at the darker hallway, running directionless between walls and hallways. "Is this a f*****g maze?!" She mutters irritably to herself as she blindly makes a sharp turn. She bumps really hard into something, the impact sending her ass down on the floor. Lexi quickly gathers herself, annoyed, but when she sees what is in front of her, her heart starts beating erratically in her chest and on instinct, her body curves perfectly into a fighting stance. The corner of her mouth tugs into a smirk when the guy stepped out from the dark. "I found you." Trevor hissed after he looked behind him. "You're alone?" Lexi asked and Trevor nod his head. "Where are they?" "I don't know, after we lost you, I got lost too." Trevor shrugged his shoulder. "Are you okay?" He asked as his eyes shifted down to Lexi's sword. "It seems that you killed multiples of them." "Yeah, how about you? Have you encounter one?" "Luckily, no. I've been hiding good." Trevor replied as he looked back to Lexi's eyes and he smiled in relief. "I couldn't say that it's good to be back in here." "Same." Lexi sighs. "If I'm not mistaken, there's an underground passage in this mansion, do you still remember where is it?" "Wait, you're not planning to leave everyone behind, right?" Trevor asked a bit alarmed. "I just have to find Jazen and Jisu." "Lexi.." "I can't save everyone Trevor, you know that. And it's better to save those two than letting everyone to find out about us." "What about us? Why do we have to hide? f**k them if they find out, it's not really our fault! That man who brought the monster in here was the one who needs to take all the blame, not us!" Trevor snapped, his voice echoed in the hallway, which alarmed Lexi. She covered Trevor's mouth and grab him inside a room on the left corner. She kicked the door shut and pushed Trevor. "Are you crazy?!" Lexi groaned. "If it wasn't for your stubborness, every kid in this orphanage wouldn't gonna die!" "So it's my fault now?" Trevor asked in disbelief, he let out a sharp breath and glare at his best friend. "All I want that day is to save you Lexi, I never wanted every kids to die, if it wasn't for you who run to the direction where everyone is hiding—." "Father Sinus told us to go there!" "We should've run to the other direction!" Trevor spat, much louder this time, he couldn't care less if they get heard by everyone. Both him and Lexi are panting as their chest rising and falling rapidly. "I lived my life protecting you, and this is what I get in return? You're cruel." Lexi sees the anger first in his eyes, then a tension of his muscles, an inability to think clearly soon followed. The rational Trevor was offline and the primitive Trevor who reverted to his old habits was in frustration and pain. Suddenly his liberal opinions were gone, his ability for nuance and emotional generosity were gone too. His fists would stay firmly by his sides, yet his words did more damage than they ever could. "I didn't asked you to protect me." "Yeah right." Trevor scoffed mockingly. He looked at Lexi with betrayal in his eyes, he felt betrayed and hurt, though Lexi was right. She never asked for help, but Trevor volunteered and promised himself since the day he saw Lexi, crying on the corner of the mansion while getting bullied. He's the knight in shining armour who's not needed but he feels like doing it and act like one. "You didn't." Lexi suddenly realized what she had said, seeing the pain in Trevor's eyes made her realized that she's being too much to the person who wants to protect her even if he put his life on the line. "Trev.." She tried to reach for Trevor's hand but the latter swat her hand lightly and shook his head. "Trev I'm sorry, dude—." "Enough Lexi, I've heard so much and that's enough for me to realized that I'm the bad person here." "Trevor, I didn't say that. Please, I'm sorry." "If you break a glass and it shattered into pieces, was your sorry enough to fix it?" Trevor said, his voice with certain sadness. "No, and that's what you did to me, Lex." He added as he turn his heels and was about to go out but when he open the door, there was a person standing outside and listening to their conversation. Her eyes darted to Lexi, who's eyes were wide open to see her. "Jazen.." she muttered. "So Iris was right all this time." Jazen said, smiling sadly at her girlfriend. "Was right about what?" Trevor asked. "That she knew every corner of this place and—." "And?" Trevor pressed. "Trevor stop." Lexi chimes in, pushing Trevor on the side as she approached Jazen. "Where's Jisu? Is she okay?" "How can you still act like that after killing almost hundred of kids?" Jazen asked, distancing herself from Lexi. Lexi's mouth fell open in surprised and she's loss for words. She doesn't know how to respond to that since they've been caught. She looked back to Trevor, who decided to keep in silent and let Lexi to deal with it alone. "Jazen—." "I really don't know everything about you and that's ok, but this? How can you stomach to live like you did nothing before?" "How'd you even know that?" Lexi asked in confusion. As far as she could remember, the incident 10 years ago was a forbidden secret as the government doesn't want people to panic, knowing that there are creatures such as monsters. "My sister.." Jazen trailed off. "She was with the man who brought the monster here and because of the two of you, she died!" ______
