Chapter 8
Once they pulled into the space marked Emergency Room Visitors Only, Terry quickly jumped out to run to the passenger side. By the time he got to the hood, Karen was already half-way to the hospital’s glassed entrance. Terry sprinted and caught her as she entered the lobby. Karen led Terry at a brisk pace to the elevator which took them to the Third floor. She pushed the elevator doors open and rushed toward the Emergency Room Information desk.
“We’re here for Suzie Young,” Karen said, while on the run, ten feet away from the information desk. “She was brought in with a head injury.”
“Are you her parents?”
“Yes, we are,” Karen said, not wanting to take the time to explain.
“She’s in surgery. Please take a seat, and we will take your information. We’ll have a doctor come out
