Chapter Ten“Who goes there?” a loud voice came from the top of the wall. “Joppo, from Sticktown. We are looking for a replacement for our water system, also we have an injured man,” Joppo replied and the light turned to shine on Ryan. “Alright, open the gates,” the voice yelled out, and the spotlight shut off. Ryan rubbed his eyes as his sight returned. The massive, thick metal gates shifted then they swung inwards, opening the way. Joppo saluted to the man on the wall and slowly proceeded forward. “They must know you?” Ryan asked.
