Adere had passed the first village and now heading to the next before he would reach his father's maternal home.
The Great Seer of Aba or should he be called The Greatest Seer of Aba kingdom arrived in the grand palace of Aba and before he sat down he looked at the Queen carefully and said, "But you already know the answer to your questions. Your meaning of your dream is not buried where you can't see it. you see it and you know it. Why not think and answer yourself"
"Wise one. I know nothing. That is why we called you" said the Queen.
The Great Seer stood and went to her and placed his hand on her head and said, "do you see anything?"
with the Queen's eyes closed she said, "yes, I see a man"
"what is he doing?" the Seer asked.
"He is moving. He has a bag hung around his shoulder and a sword in the other hand" said the Queen.
"is he not the same man you saw in your dream?" he asked. The Queen opened his eyes immediately and said, "he is the one"
"What is happening?" asked the king. The Great Seer took two steps backward and looked at the king. "The young man you and your wife saw in the dream is called Adere. He is from the eastern part of the lands you rule. He was born by no man or woman. Whoever harbored him until he became a man must have lied to him. He was never born. He is on his way to his father's maternal home to encounter a demon of the ages. There he will be cursed with the strength to stop the beast that has terrorised Aba for centuries. But my lord there is a problem"
"Whatever it is I would want to hear it" said the king.
"your wife must not see this man in reality. If she does there will be a problem that will endure for hundreds of years to come" said the Seer. The king looked at his wife and said, "My wife must go into isolation then"
"Whatever you must do while sending out our men to go and bring this man to you on his way back from his father's maternal home. You will have to listen to what he will have to say. But you must be humble enough to pay attention and obey his instructions. As it stands now he is more important than you are" said the Seer. This utterance of the Seer provoked the king but he managed to keep quite. After the Seer had gone he sat on his throne and thought deeply.
"my lord when will I go into isolation?" the Queen asked.
"You will not go into isolation" said the king.
"my lord?" the Queen was surprised at his change of attitude and the angry expression on his face. "are you okay my Lord?" she asked. The king took a glance at her and said, "You won't go into isolation and Adere or whatever the Seer called him won't be invited here"
"but why? you heard the Seer and...
" He won't be invited here because he will die before that " said the king before he rose and called his general. "Go to the East and spread this message to all our spies and Finders. I need the name Adere included on the death book. I need him dead before this time tomorrow. a man cannot be more important than his king" he said and left the throne room. the Queen now realised where the anger was coming from. the king was angry because of the Seer's utterance. She sighed and said to herself, "I know that my husband is a good man but I see him making a big mistake that will take centuries to correct" she left the throne room too.
Before dawn Adere was almost in his father's maternal home. He sat to rest under a shade and brought out the food he took with him. He saw a man washing his horse and shook his head. "if I had money I would own one; I would have reached my destination before now" he sniffed and thought about his mother. "Mama married a good man too but the man is not man enough. if he was he would have followed me. But everybody must not go the same direction. He has his own calling to answer" he said and looked up. "it will soon rain but I have to be in my father's maternal home before that else I will be soaked in water" he rose to go but noticed something unusual with the man watering his horse. The man was glaring at him and making some signs. all of a sudden he saw a man run out of the nearby bush with clubs to hit him. He dodged the man's blow and pushed him towards the man watering the horse. The horse man also picked his own club and both men positioned to attack Adere.
"What is this?" Adere asked.
"you will soon find out" said one of them as they pounced on him and a deadly fight ensued.
Back home, Adere's mother was kneeling beside her husband's grave and crying. "your son is as stubborn as you were. He would not listen to me. Please go before him and protect him. I come to you because I know you loved him even more than anyone. May the gods help you to protect him" she rose and left with teary eyes.
Back to where Adere and the men were fighting. Adere had sustained an injury but both men laid dead before him. He looked at the wound and wondered who they were. He looked at them closely and was shocked. Those were known spies in the land. These kind of people only attacked people that were regarded highly in the the kingdom of Aba. Adere thought deeply as he said, "Who am I that The Finders would come to kill me. Something about this journey?" he asked no one in particular and then a voice came to him, "Continue your journey my son and continue with it fast. you must reach my maternal home as soon as possible before it is too late"
Adere was moved by these words and his mission in life became clearer. He went straight to the horse and mounted it. He said aloud, "My destiny, my life!" he sped off through the tick forest and made his way to his father's mother's home.
The King of Aba was inside his chambers and eagerly waiting for the news of Adere's death. He could not sleep as he waited for the news of the death of the one regarded would be more important than him.
