The father did want Obieze his son to be arrested but then he knew that his wife would throw herself to the ground and weep herself to stupor if he was to do that. The king decided to allow his son to do whatever he wished. Obieze knew that he had no much followers but after his deed on the case of Aturu and Idima he got followers that wowed his father. After his father had made it clear that he would not be seen involving himself in the case of Aturu and Idima Obieze went on to talk to the youths of Egwu. After he had finished speaking to them many people volunteered to go to war with Obieze, to go to the land of Idima and defend them from the people of Aturu who had sworn that Idima people would perish for deciding to separated from them. The battle that ensured between Idima people and that of Aturu people was not a war to be forgotten so easily. Obieze led his men and they descended on the people of Aturu after they had crossed the border that separated them from the land of Idima. The battle was a terrible one as Obieze showed them that he was the true son of his father. They could not believe what they saw with their eyes. It was as if the gods favoured Idima people with the presence of Obieze as he turned to a god in the battle field. Many of the enemies feared to near him as he went on to cut them to the ground. He would scream, throw his sword in the air and continue cutting the enemies to the ground. The soldiers of Aturu saw this and were terrified to near him. Most of them began to retreat. Obieze and the Idima people began to pursue them back to their land and did not allow them settle. They continue to kill them until the people of Aturu abandoned their home and fled with their king. They crossed the mountains and the people of Idima decided to let them go. They hailed Obieze and tried their best to honor him in front of his father, the king of Egwu but Obieze refused as he went back home with the remaining of the Egwu people that came out to support with their lives. Upon returning home Obieze's father who was waiting to hear that his son was back was on his throne and waiting for him to enter. Immediately he entered the father went straight at him and embraced him. "I heard the news, of how the people of Aturu fled on sighting you. You led the people of Idima to war and this has brought us victory and respect. You have shown to be worthy to take over from me as the king of Egwu" After the father had said this Obieze had shook his head and said, "No father, I did not do what I did because I want you to be proud of me or that I want people to praise me. I did what I did for the sake of humanity and for the sake of the throne of Idima. Idima needed help and that was what I gave to them. I want you to know that I am your son but I am no longer a child. I am happy that you have now seen reasons with me and I am elated at your love and understanding" After he was done saying he was about to go to his chamber with the maids who were already waiting on him to be done with his father when his father called his attention back and said, "You have done well but then there is a problem and that problem is that you are now a target. You have made your name known and you have shown what you represent. Those who are against what you represent will come for you. The people of Aturu will not forget in a hurry and they will come for you?" After the king had said this the prince paused for a while and then turned to his maids and motioned to them and they went away with him to his chamber. Obieze's mother had come out to meet with her husband and she held him by the shoulder and said, "my son, our son is a destined son from the gods. You should know what he is by now. He is living his destiny and there is no one who can stop him now. You are a witness of how he came into the world. We all saw it. We all saw how a blind man began to see on the day of his birth. You should know better to allow him be himself" "Yes, but we should do our part as well. Advising him is our work. We may not choose for him but we have to advise him on how to choose. His destiny scares me. It scares life out of me. I wanted him to know what he has exposed himself to and he was ignorant of it" The king said and sat back on his throne. "We all know that some day he will be exposed to his work and if that day is today then we have nothing to worry except to pray to the gods to enable him make the right choices" Said the wife as she sat beside him. The two continued to glare at each other and this led the Queen to remember exactly what happened on the day Obieze was born, how the gods gave the people a sign that a great man had been born. On that day it was as if heavens were let loose and the gods sang songs of Obieze in the ears of all those that witnessed his birth.
