The Conqueror 4

The people of Idima had continued to enjoy their freedom from the people of Aturu as they had never done before. Their leader was always seen paying a visit to the king of Egwu but indirectly it was actually Prince Obieze that he paid a visit. Prince Obieze on the other hand would entertain the king of Idima. On one of the visit of the king of Idima he sat with prince Obieze and he had begun, "Prince of Egwu, I am so happy for the things you did for me and for the people of Idima. You came to our rescue and by the help of the gods who gave you to us you rescued us from the hands of the king of Aturu but my Prince I must say that I am still worried. The king of Aturu is not dead and he fled with most of his people. Sources revealed that he is at the desert of Heki and he is there with most of his people, those who survived the war. My prince I know that the people of Idima have gained their freedom from the tyranny of the king of Aturu and his people but then my heart is troubled. I was led to believe that while in the desert the king of Aturu is subjecting his people to training and even the children amongst them are learning how to fight. This is not a good news but a bad one. The king of Aturu is preparing to retaliate and I am here to bring this to your notice. I know that you are but a Prince and that your father has the better power over the army of Egwu. I pray that you find a place in your power to support us again when this war restarts. The king of Aturu is pained and bitter over you and he is coming back " After the king of Idima was through the prince asked him to go home, and that he was going to discuss with his father and get back to him. The king of Idima had bowed and had left. On getting home the king of Idima realised that his land had been attacked by a group known as Safati. These were people considered as outcastes and bandits and they operate in almost every kingdom of the earth. They were a powerful group and kingdoms feared them. They were feared not because they were a powerful nation but because they attack nations from their hiding places. These was a thing of worry when the king of Idima returned and the people of Idima who survived the attack revealed to him how they were attacked by the group Safati. The king was greatly troubled. Many of the properties were destroyed and others taken away. He was vulnerable and he knew that if the king of Aturu was to attack him during his weakest point it was then. In the desert of Heki the king of Aturu got the information of how the group Safati attacked the land of Idima and nearly brought the whole kingdom to ruin. The King's men were particularly happy as they followed him. "We need to strick now. Now is the time. Now is the right opportunity to strick the people of Idima and bring down to rubble" Said one of the King's men. The king of Aturu sat on a log of food and some of the women in the camp brought food for them. The king and his men thanked them and the wife of the king came to greet them. One of the King's men started telling her about the good news. The King's wife waited for the man to finish and when he was done the men knew that had to excuse the Queen and her husband. They took some of their food in their hands and left them. "Is it true what he said?" the Queen asked. "Yes. The land of Idima is as vulnerable as any kingdom can be. I believe that the group attacked them when they did not expect it" Said the king. "And so shall they will not be able to see your own attack coming which you must launch now or never" said the Queen. The king looked up at and held her by the shoulder. "Have you forgotten that the Obieze is with them and he will still want to support them?" said the king. "Then if the head of the snake will prevent us from picking the snake by the tail then we will have to cut off the head of the snake and be done with it" said the wife. The king thought about what she said and understood what she meant. ."Are you saying..." the king was about to want clarification when the wife immediately replied with "Yes" The king stood up and paced. After sometimes he stood before the Queen. "You speak of killing the prince of Egwu and that is the most dangerous thing I have heard in ages. Would you want the king of Egwu to descend upon Aturu with every thing he is got? What do you think he would do if his son is killed by me?" asked the king. "He will not know because no one will tell him and because no one will know that you killed him except me. I want you to think about it and when you are ready to ask me what plan I have over how he could be killed then get back to me and I will give you an idea of what to do. You will get rid of him and while his father is mourning we will strick the land of Idima and use the head of the king of Idima to make football for the children of Aturu land. I bet when the king of Egwu hears the news of his son's death he would be weakened for years and would not have any desire to partake in war again" said the wife before she left him seated there and returned to her tent.
