Yara and the king of Meha, King Zaz continued eating after the king told her that maybe Mezie looked like someone she knew. Yara knew that the only reason she was seated there eating with the king of Meha was because of her husband. She knew that if left him the king of Meha could have Rega killed just to have her to himself and that was one thing Yara was avoiding. She did not want a situation whereby Rega would loose her and equally loose his life. She wanted that although Rega would loose he would not loose his life and she would be happy that he was alive wherever she might be. As she continued eating she was hateful of the man seated right before her and all she wanted was to have him stabbed with the fork in her hand. She remained there and munching on the food. The king looked at her face and gave her a smile.
Mezie went outside and one of the officials in the palace who had been watching him stepped up to him and stood beside him. "How terrible it can be to see your own daughter being maltreated by the son of a man you served so well" said the official. His name was Chere.
"I do not hate the king but he lacks the sense of understanding" said Mezie and Chere smiled.
"He is younger and we should put up with his nonsense." said Chere.
"Till when, until he destroys my daughter? Look at him, tearing her away from her husband and forcing her to dine with him. It is evil and I won't allow my daughter to be subjected to the tyranny of that man. I won't allow that happen under my watch" Said Mezie before he left Chere. Chere sighed deeply and kept standing.
Rega was nearing the palace and the palace gate keepers had already taken notice of him and had decided to make sure be never penetrated. They tried to stop him but he was faster. He tore himself in between and was seen already in the compound. The soldiers came out and surrounded him with their spears.
Inside the palace the king could hear the noises outside and he wondered what was happening. He stood up and went to the windows and there he could see Rega on his horse screaming on top of his voice. He was actually calling on his wife Ruty. Ruty did not hear her name initially but when Rega kept on calling on her she could hear her name and she suddenly stood up from the seat and went to the window to see what the king was looking at and there her jaw fell and she could not believe that Rega returned of make trouble in the palace. She had decided to visit him but this he was doing could cause him his life and this was something she would not want for him. She had her reasons. She turned to the king, "Please do not let your men do any harm to him. I will go down and talk to him and he will leave" When Yara said this the king looked at her and said No! "You are not going to go down anywhere and to speak to anyone. He will die right there if he does not leave the palace in the next three minutes" said the king and Yara fell down on her kneels and began to beg.
In the compound the soldiers had already forced Rega down from the horse and were already beating him. He was still shouting the name of Yara, saying she was his wife and that the king of Meha should give him back his wife. The soldiers continued to beat him until Mezie who had come out made them stop and bent down to Rega and began to help him up. "I told you that you should not come back here. You have been hurt and you must return home and leave the gods to fight your fight. Do you want to die out of stubbornness? I need you to know that I am not going to allow you die just like that. You are a good man and I am proud of you. You have shown so much love to Yara and I have seen it with my two eyes. I want you to know that I am with you but you need to stay alive first" Mezie said and Rega who was already crying could no longer help himself back on the horse.
Inside the palace Yara was now standing and tears could be seen in her eyes as she saw Rega being helped back on his horse by Mezie. Chere who was standing aside was watching this as well.
As Mezie helped Rega on his horse he made him understand that he was with him and that he was going to help him when the time was right. He whispered these words to Rega and Rega who had no more hope had to rely on that and had to go home as well. He began to walk away while on his horse and Yara could not hold back her tears. She decided to go into her chamber and the king closed the windows and left the dinning table too.
Rega returned home and began to pack his belongings. He had no more life in Meha anymore. Yara was his life and someone more powerful had taken that life away from him and there was nothing he could do about that. The only option left for him now is to leave the land of Meha and go to a far away land and start life afresh. He knew that if he did he would probably find love again.
Inside the chamber of Yara, in the palace of Meha kingdom she was seen seated and sobbing. She was so heartbroken and she wondered why the gods decided to punish her like that. She would sniff and would clean her eyes with a piece of cloth. She did not know when the door flew open and the king was standing there. On looking at her the king sighed and Yara realised his presence and wiped off her tears.
"Are you crying?" asked the king.
"No I am not. I am sorry" she said and wipes off her tears again.
"But you are and I am left to ask why. Are you crying because of your former husband? He is a man who has lost his focus. He claims he loves you but he has nothing to offer you. A man who loves a woman and claims he loves her must have something to offer her, something like security, love, money, power and fame. Your former husband had nothing of such to offer you and I have all in abundance. You should stop crying over him and know that the people of Meha have waited for a day that I would introduce to them..." The king had not finished when Yara cut him in. "There are no ones who are waiting for anything of such. You speak of the people of Meha as though I am not one of the same people you speak of. You should be asking me what the people are saying. I was amongst them before I was forced to stay here"
"Remember that you were not forced. You committed a crime and you were brought here for a trial. You still think I have a hand in what happened to you right?" asked the king.
"I do not believe so but then you also know that I did not do what I was accused of" said Yara.
"I was not there and Thama said you did it and she was the only one there" said the king and Yara kept on looking at him. "You have a wife and you want me. How on earth will I know if you won't toss me aside to live in one of your powerful homes in the city when you are bored of me and then get yourself another wife. You did it to your wife" said Yara. The king sighed again. "You think too much Yara and that is no good at all. I want you to know that I am with you and I will always be with you. I have no reason to marry again. You are so beautiful and you are so elegant. I do not see any more reason I should be seen wanting in another woman. Believe me when I say that your former husband had nothing to offer you" said the king.
"If you are going to have me stay here with you and if you are going to have me respect you as my king and as my husband you must not talk about my former husband and in that manner. You have already taken what belongs to him and that should be enough. Stop talking evil about him" said Yara.
"It is alright. You have spoken well" he stood up and went for the door but stopped half way and turned to look at Yara. "You see, your friend Thama was a bad friend and if you think she really made you pass through a lot by lying against you then when the prime minister of Meha places the crown on your head you will have all the power to restart the whole trail and my dear you can have the ability to command her head on the block" The king finalised and went out.
Yara stood up and went closer to the mirror and began to watch herself on it. She was sure that the king meant everything he said concerning Thama and Yara was tempted to actually restart the trail when she assumes her position as the Queen of Meha kingdom. If Thama was the reason she was no longer with her husband then she would have to pay for that. She sat back on the bed and in her mind she knew she had to visit Rega for the last time. She stood up once again and began to walk to the quarters of the king. The king was now relaxing and sipping on his drink when he raised his face to see Yara standing before him. He smiled and wanted to know what he could do for her. Yara revealed she would like to pay Rega a visit.
