Chapter five

Different worlds collide

As promised, Logan's secretary was up early to pick Emily. Sophia helped her pack her things. She was happy for Emily. They hugged each other as Emily promised to come see here often. Emily gasped as the car drove into Logan's luxurious compound. The building was something else she couldn't explain. She was taken aback when she saw a lot of men in black standing around the compound but was calmed by Jack who told her they were just bodyguards. She wondered why they were of such number but shrugged it off. She was more shocked as she entered the house, everywhere was so bright that for a while she thought the sun was in the living room.

"You will be shown your room so settle down and feel at home." Jack said calling the lost Emily back.

It's was getting late and she wondered why she has not seen Logan. She asked a maid and was told that he was'nt yet back from work. She knew that instant that he was a workaholic. She needed to discuss somethings with him so decided to wait for his arrival. She sat in the living room watching a movie when not long after , Logan entered with Jack. He was looking so tired so she decided to let him rest and talk to him the next morning.

The next morning, Logan met Emily waiting in the sitting room. He knew she wanted to say something so decided to give her attention.

"Good morning Logan."

"Morning."

"Concerning what we discussed yesterday, can you give me the money so I can start work at my studio again? I can't just sit back at home doing nothing." Emily concluded fearlessly.

"No problem, I will send my secretary to you before the end of today."

"Oh thanks, and again, why do you come back late at night since you leave early the next morning for work." She asked inquisitively.

"Whatever I do is none of your business. As long as you get what you want and I also do, it's all good. Just focus on what we are here for." Logan ended as he walked out of the house.

"That rude brat." Emily scoffed as she also walked away. She entered her room and messaged Sophia. Logan on the other hand is intentionally acting cold and weird. He thinks he can make her detest him but what he does not know is that Emily does not give a damn.

Emily received the alert on her phone. She was so happy and kept rechecking the amount. In all her years, working at her studio, she hasn't received such amount so she was overwhelmed. She took action immediately. She went to pay off the shops rent first, she as well paid up her debgs then she employed constructors to help her in reconstructing her studio. With the money , she bought more equipments to furnish the shop. After she was done with everything, she went out with Sophia to celebrate Emily's fortune. Emily got back to Logan's house late in the night only to meet Logan waiting furiously for her in the living room.

"Where have you been?"

"Where I've been?"

"You heard me right young lady. For the period with which we will be married, you're not allowed to visit any male. So tell your boyfriend's that."

"What are you taking about Logan? What boyfriend did I go out to meet."

"I don't want to know young lady. Keep your promiscuous life aside for now. You can pick it up later when we divorce. You have to stop all this so as not to ruin my reputation."

"Logan, it's not what you're thinking. Let me explain..."

"...I don't need an explanation. I've said what I wanted to say and I hope you heed." Logan concluded as he left Emily confused.

Emily was so pissed she walked off to contact Sophia.

"Who does he think he is? He wouldn't even listen to my explanation. What the hell!" Emily said to Sophia over the phone.

"Babe, calm down."

"You can't tell me to calm down, he should have at least heard me out before jumping into conclusion. He's so annoying. If care is not taking, I'd reconsider this marriage."

Sophia knowing the psycho her friend is, calmed her down and warned her not to do anything drastic. Logan got to his room still furious when he received a text from his father asking him to come see him alongside his wife. Logan wondered how his dad knew he got a wife already than remembered Jack who might have told him. The next morning, a box was delivered to Emily's door. She was just waking but went to the door immediately she heard a knock. She picked the box and went back inside. She scoffed when she saw the message was from Logan. If not for his father, I wouldn't follow him. To his surprise, Emily was prepared before he came down. He stepped out of the house without sparing Emily a glance who also did not care. Emily was received warmly by Logan's father. "At least he isn't like his son." She thought as she flowed along with James.

"I hope you're taking care of Emily for me, Logan."

"Yes Father." Logan replied as Emily glared at him in shock.

"Taking care my foot." She thought in her mind.

They spent some time with James before standing up to leave.

"So Logan, when should I expect my grand children?"

"What!" Both Logan and Emily exclaimed together.

"Fa..father...your gr..grand children?"

"Of course."

"Ve..very soon sir." Emily said helping Logan out.

As the car drove the both of them, nobody said anything to each other. The car was uncomfortably silent go Jack so he played a music to lighten up the mood in the car. As promised, Logan got the inheritance his grand father kept for him. The two got home and went their separate ways like strangers.
