"Yoo-hoo! Anyone awake yet?" Piper looked at the clock mounted above the kitchen table and wondered how anybody could be so cheery that early in the morning. It was barely past six o"clock, and already her mothers were coming in her front door. And they weren"t all that quiet about it, either. She looked down at Daisy sitting by her feet and saw the dog"s tail wagging. "You know, as a watchdog, you"re supposed to give me a warning," Piper admonished the happy dog. But it was no use; Daisy loved the mothers just as much as she loved Piper. She got to her feet and raced to meet the women coming through the house.
