How would you dethrone a King?
Not one but three Kings.
Three Kings that effortlessly ruled a school with a vicious ranking system. Three devilishly handsome boys who had it all, money, girls, and most importantly power.
Three Kings who manipulate and deceive, three Kings that never bow down to others. These three rich boys who make people cower down in fear, I want them to suffer.
Carter Dean, he was a mercenary. He was the richest out of the bunch, it was no doubt he was apart of illegal businesses due to the amount of money he makes. His soft auburn hair and captivating eyes were enough to cause chaos in Selveridge High. Eyes like his stir the wind and form chaotic storms. He damaged souls, he steals shards from broken hearts and keeps them as memory. A memory to remind him of how dangerous he is.
Reuben Foster, the bad boy. His eyes, his hair, his morals were so dark. He emitted darkness and called it his own. His alluring appearance was just enough to have several boys and girls lusting for him, his cold attitude was just enough to form a snow storm and shatter people like shards of weak ice. His cold exterior made observers suffer from his icy demeanour, his steely gaze and prominent alluring aura had onlookers shivering in their seats.
Elliot Grey, the fighter. His boss branded glasses laid on the bridge on his nose like nothing. He was the smartest boy in Selveridge High and the boy who played mind games with immense accuracy. His muscly build and ethereal looks placed many others to shame, his eyes withheld deep emotions that he never seemed to show. He wasn't to be messed with, he wasn't to be played with — he was a mastermind that destroyed his opponents with ease.
I know they all have their weaknesses, it will only be a matter of time I have them all in checkmate. With my determination I can make it through the disastrous storms they crafted to protect the real them, they'll cower down once I take control. I'll break them down one by one, their numerous walls will shake at my appearance.
"I'm starting to think you already like one of them." My cousin, Anna states bitterly. The smile on my face begins to grow, like one of them? Sure I find them attractive but I'm far from liking them.
"They're attractive, I give them that." I murmur, watching as Carter Dean waves at his fangirls with an egoistic glint. I so badly wanted to drain him of his ego, but patience is key. It's better to do it slowly, after all it's more amusing that way.
"Whatever, don't fall for them."
I almost laugh at her. Anna was the one who fell for Carter's charms and she's the one warning me — I am more experienced with people like him. He's like a new challenge, something so different that makes me excited.
"They'll chase after me Anna, I will barely move an inch." I say as I notice Carter Dean looking towards our lunch table, perfect. His eyes trail down to me, his harsh gaze doesn't make me move an inch.
"How will you do that Aria? They're Kings, Kings don't chase — they wait." Anna snorts, not believing me a single bit.
"Kings only chase when their throne is at stake." I say, folding my arms. I am aware of how they act, how they feel and what they want. They want a girl who's selfless and has a mind of her own, they all love a challenge.
"You're going to regret this."
"Don't I always regret everything I do? My whole life is literally a regret, I should've swallowed that tide pod when I was six." I utter incoherently as Anna wheezes.
"Don't be ashamed of who you are Aria, leave that to your parents sweetie." Anna pats my back soothingly, it makes sense why she's my cousin. We share the same depressing humour.
"So, how should I start this game?"
"I say aim after Carter," Anna's eyes twinkle with vengeance, he must've messed with her heart terribly. "He's the richest and has a strong connection to the ranking system."
The ranking system. These three boys made a cruel ranking system that only benefited them, with this ranking system they had the power to do anything.
People were ranked in four different ranks. With the fourth rank being the lowest, it contained of outcasts and loners. The third rank consisted of tech geeks who'd do the homework of the higher ranks. The second rank was filled with rank one wannabes, cheerleaders and jocks who'd do anything to impress the people who had higher power than them.
Rank one was the highest of course. I've heard about the Kings before I even joined this school, they were known as the three Kings of Selveridge High by the public— the very people who had created the ranking system that's still installed till this day.
"They're having a party tonight, show him what you're capable of — make him desire you so much that he'll do anything to get with you." Anna says darkly, she was enjoying this more than me.
She wanted the Kings to fall. Most importantly she wanted Carter Dean to fall, after all it was him who broke her heart.
"Reuben and Elliot will also be at the party, don't mess with them just yet; they're harder to break," she informs me before standing up, she smiles curtly before walking off.
They're harder to break, it's a good thing I don't give up too easily.
